Here’s what needs to happen. Hire Rizzi

Get Mickey out of the GM chair in a year and bring in fresh blood from outside the old regime.

Let the new GM pick a new HC after Rizzi rides the cap monster into the grave.

Start rebuilding with the high picks and then the new cap space. Get all the old vets out of here and ship Carr’s arse somewhere else

If it's Rizzi, cut Carr and get under cap even if we have to play all our draft picks

Unless she is doing Moore "favors" for info, I have a hard to believing this is anything other than her talking out of both sides of her mouth

Moore could also be using the media to put pressure on Mickey to commit to a QB path

They have to be telling whoever they interview that they get 2 years free right? Clean house, clear up the salary cap etc....wont be judged on record first two years.

Agree, but even Gayle should realize selling the team is what she should be forced to realize.

Most on here think we didn’t offer the job to anyone and we are a sought after team to coach though.. and what’s the rush right?! lol

We still need an OC as well!

You sometimes only get 1 shot at this, they aren’t running from just Carr.

It’s Carr+ a fricked up cap situation with an already thin and old roster + a dysfunctional organization headed by the man that created the mess…so yeah I can’t blame someone for not wanting to hitch their wagon to us

Rebuilds are tough…even harder when your GM is horrible but thinks he’s actually right about the terrible moves he continues to make

Draft picks have nothing to do with it. Because of how our current cap situation is structured, there isn't an option to just "cut a lot of guys". Most of the guys you're probably imagining are negative cap space for being cut.

We have to restructure a lot of guys to get compliant. We literally, and I mean literally, do not have a choice. And if we don't do Carr, we will have to restructure almost every bad contract again (Cam, Taysom, Demario, Ruiz, Granderson, Mathieu, Kamara, and others) and all that + lots of other guys only gets us to flat compliance, doesn't even include paying picks.

So...as much as I hate it...We are stuck with Carr. They are going to restructure him.

Any team looking for a head coach probably has a shitty QB room.

Its part of the reason they are looking for a head coach.

This news doesn't make any sense.

An NFL that just fired their head coach is gonna have problems, its the reason they don't have a head coach.

No one is gonna take an open NFL gig and walk into a perfect spot. You have to make it perfect.

If he turns us down Gayle won’t even know about

Gayle: do we have a coach yet Mickey ?

Mickey: not yet there’s just so many quality candidates out there fighting for this job to get the opportunity to work with me, the interview process is taking a little longer. I’m an awesome GM by the way.

Gayle: sounds good Mickey, I’ll get out of your hair and go back to ignoring the two major sports franchises I own.

And the guy coming in here isn’t going to have the option of doing it for awhile.

I agree unless during the interview process Mickey laid out his plans and that include having to give Carr a multi-year extension because he already has $17M in dead money in 2027. Then once we restructure 2025's cap number that 2027 figure will most likely jump up to $40M. Then we still have to restructure 2026 because that cap hit of $61.5M won't work with all of the other moves we need to make these next 2 years.

Yeah. When Sean came on board, we had enough cap room to, you know, sign a QB.

4 out of 6 openings this year did not. Only NO and LV did, and NO could be argued to be mediocre and not shitty.

This sounds like the cope that kept being repeated in my thread about how terrible our status would be in this search.

Then you limit it to Carr. Start getting rid of some older guys... we did with Lattimore, so maybe they will some more
