I am paraphrasing with the thread title but that seems to be what she is reporting.

She also says that Carr simply does not want to be a bridge QB and is, paraphrasing, milking the injury excuse because he doesn't want to do that, he wants out

I’d rather have Jalon Walker out of UGA, but I’d take Williams any day at #9.

My thought is they are going to try to trade back into the back half of the 1st to get a QB. Not what I would prefer, but if they get a good pick at 9, I’d be happy.

my only simple response is you don't pass on a qb that is higher on your board than the next qb if you need a qb regardless of value of the spot.

Saints love their high first round DE/edge rushers that will eventually flop so the fans can continue their melt for all of eternity.

If Loomis trades next years 1 to move up it will be the dumbest move in Saints history

While not a smart move by any means this team has a lengthy list to pick from that would be worst than this.

Carr will bridge no matter where he goes.

In a draft that is not viewed as terribly strong, especially at QB, who in the back half of the 1st round is going to pay a significant cost to move into the top 10? Unless you are assuming the Saints would take (relative) pennies on the dollar to move back?

Of course, I can see a scenario where Philadelphia would offer Loomis something like a late 2nd round pick and 4 cheesteaks to move from 32 to 9 where they add a great player to an already stacked roster while the Saints take a non-power conf. player at 32 no one else projected as a 2nd round pick.

I mean, if that is true, trading up to get that first round DE. They are bound to hit on one eventually. Right?

Well they just hired Joe Dumars on the Pels side, so seems like it would be right up their alley.

What I mean is that they will pick a player at 9, then try to trade pick 40 and a future pick to get back into the 23 to 25 range (before LA) to pick Sanders or Dart (whoever the Steelers don’t pick).

He’s saying we’re going to move into the first rd AGAIN after picking at 9. We’d do this to take a qb who “fell.”

Considering Loomis did that for Ingram it’s not far fetched.

LOL. Passing on Bubba Smith and Russel Erxleben simply cannot be outdone.

Didn’t someone on here say we love Jalon Walker? It makes sense now.

Carr is faking an injury per the Saints FO direction. They want teams to jump ahead of them to grab QBs.

I fully expect some team to fool Mickey into trading the future of the franchise away to move up and draft a QB

Faking Injury

I’m hearing this as well from a local media member. At least that’s what people in the building think. Choose to believe or not.
