What about the Voodoo Dolls? Our seats were literally right behind them 5 feet away while they performed during the game & you had to look through them to see the game. No franchise in any sport would ever do that in this day & age & that was 20 years ago. I miss those days.

Football has gotten as bad as Hollywood. Can’t come up with an original idea so they keep rebooting USFL, XFL, Arena League and NFL Europe. Can’t wait for the AAFL to make another go of it.

I'm surprised no one said they would be better than the Saints yet. Get on your game bros.

Gregg Williams was the defensive coordinator in his last game too.

I will say the Voodoo is a better football name than the Saints. Not perfect, but still better bc it's edgier and a more recognizable association back to the city.

Visitors stereotypically think of Mardi Gras/partying, food, Jazz, etc. with Voodoo also on the list. I'm hard-pressed to recall any promoted tourism ever centered around Catholicism. Even Notre Dame chose the Fightin' Irish as opposed to say, the Angels, Saints or Disciples.

I've watched every game and while not the NFL its been good football. I'm trying to figure out who my team will be ... Vipers ,Brahma's, & Roughnecks are pretty tough defenses / pretty solid teams. They are tops so far but I'm not sure yet

Mardi Gras.

"Voodoo" may be a more obvious association than "Saints", but there are still clear associations with Catholicism and saints .
When the Saints Go Marching In is a jazz standard associated with the city, the birthplace of jazz.
The most recognizable landmark is Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral.
NOLA is known for its French Catholic culture/history as opposed to Anglo-Protestant culture/history, particularly as opposed to the Bible Belt South.

If they do, I hope it is owned by Benson. The second version of the VooDoo was so amateurish and pathetically run, it was embarrassing.
