Romig Jr's "ITS THHIIIRRDD DOOOOOOOOWNNN"!

Does this drive anyone else as crazy as it does me? I do notice that a handful of other teams have their PA guys doing this as well (Philly is one), so it must be something the league encourages now.
What I've noticed is that Romig Jr. does his "third down" thing for louder and for longer than any other team in the league, and he seems to have zero nuance or adjustment for the situations.
I can't stand it. I don't like doing things in cookie cutter format - games have ebbs and flows and you're insulting the intelligence of your fans and your defence when you do that shite on a 3rd and inches when the team is playing like crap and hasn't had a stop all day, and the other team has converted their last 5 third downs

Somehow Romig Jr is worse than his Dad, and that says a lot.

I think his dad was great. He factored in how the game was going and the mood of the crowd. Jr. Acts like we're low IQ buffoons at a monster truck rally

I've been to many away stadiums and I'd say around 80% of them have PA guys that do this exact same thing on 3rd down.

Being in AV production, that cue is probably pre-recorded, so it sounds out of place when it's 3rd down and we're losing by three scores.

I loved his Dad's third down!! one of my best memories growing up going to games with my dad, was xmas time, and he goes, "Its Third Down!!!!!!" then they played the , dun, dun, dun, dun....
got me so pumped, I loved games around xmas time bc of that alone. to bad when I was a kid the Saints were trying to play spoiler for someone elses playoff seeding.

his dad used to turn that shite off when we are losing the game. his son has no sense of when its no longer appropriate to do it
its beyond irritating when we are losing, and the defense keeps giving up 20 yards on every 3rd and long, and that clown is celebrating it being another 3rd down

I wouldn't go that far, but it's definitely fallen off from top 10 experience in the league to bottom 10. 90% of that is because of team performance but other things factor in.

Was thinking the same thing when I saw OP. Figured he has a dozen or so preplanned phrases so all he has to do is punch a button to maintain some level of consistency

It's not him it's the dome it's a shell of what it used to be.
You have more people in ther for the social aspect then to actually be loud and cheer it has moment but the dome needs a purge.
