Underhill is such a wet blanket. I swear he gets a weird sense of glee posting stuff like this right after there’s “breaking news”. He probably knew about this for a week but chooses to release it now. So odd.

I’m not a subscriber of his and I don’t follow him on any socials.. I know he’s the Saints beat writer so I’ve seen lots of content, but Im curious how he’s part of the problem? I’m not being a contrarian, I’m genuinely curious so I can continue to avoid him with good reason.

He used to be a lot better. When he first launched the site, it used to be way more analytical and less opinion based.

He also hardly ever breaks news because he’s got some legit sources higher up that feed him intel. It’s how he’s always able to chime in like on that tweet above or have a really good idea of who we’re going to take in the draft. He usually has 2-3 different articles written and ready to go depending on who they select. HOWEVER, he’s such a mouth piece for the team that he never really goes super negative in his critiques and never really “breaks” anything because he doesn’t want to risk being wrong or risk losing his sources in addition to not being as analytical like he was in the past.

It happens to every sports writer to a certain degree. They get tons of praise on Twitter, they’re around the team and talk to high profile players all the time so they all eventually fall in love with themselves. Happened to Nick a few years ago
