I normally would love to play Devils Advocate
But Drew
Gets a pass, he's done so much for the community, as well as win us a SuperBowl, and overall just a quality SAINTS PLAYER

Therefore, I won't throw him under the bus, every athlete, regardless of whether they have it or not, still feel like "THEY CAN"

I would have loved for them to go after
Carson Wentz but nope
Then watching Gardner Minshew get traded for NOTHING
It is frustrating....

People actually took seriously something that Brees seemed to be joking about at the time?

Mickey Loomis and Sean Payton decided to roll with Drew beyond his prime. It was his ultimate decision to retire, but keeping him at the starting QB position is on Loomis and Payton.

This is quite literally their jobs.

But idiots on this board cope much easier when you find can find someone no longer on the team to place full blame. God forbid someone within the organization is held responsible.

Pretty sure that KC didn't call the Saints and tell them they were about to trade up for a QB...

Ridiculous. He wanted to play another, thought he could, and did play well enough for the Saints to win the South and go 2/3 against the Bucs. It was a very reasonable thing to do at the time.

I never want to or wanted to see Tom brady in a saints uniform but think about your statement and apply it to a general profession. Let's say you get hired as a communications technician for an above average salary and over a few years you do great work, knock out more jobs in a day than anyone else, and have great metrics. Then you get a huge pay raise, his contract, but the your metrics slide and you go from doing 5 jobs a day to 2. Do you have the right to decide when you leave? It's not necessarily on him but the saints for not dumping his arse. I understand it's not really comparable in an employer firing someone for not meeting standards and the saints cutting him because of contract and salary cap but the Point is, No Noone ever does enough to decide when they leave when production is subpar

Didn't have to. Nfl stepped in. Just ask Charlie Casserly in 2006 when he passed on a generational type talent and resigned immediately after.

Well it was Sean and I am sure the entire SAINTs organization that felt they owed so much to Drew. They would never have benched Drew or asked him to leave. So Drew actually cost the Saints those last two seasons by hanging on. He could not play up to his own standards any more YET it took him 2 entire years to accept it. NOT at all an easy thing for a professional to come to terms with. SAINTs did benefit by having Drew there to kind of Coach Taysom & J.Winston. Its a disgrace the NFL and that Commissioner allowed the NFL owners to STEAL a 2nd SuperBowl away from New Orleans and Drew. They were allowed to screw up the Division Title game by letting the LA Rams have their own officials at the game. No interference flag! RIGHT. Goodell has been running from the ghost of New Orleans SAINTs since they won their only SuperBowl. He was accused of setting up things for the SAINTs to win after Hurricane Katrina which is false. (He did in fact STOP Tom Benson dead in his tracks when he tried to sneak the SAINTs out of New Orleans for San Antonio). So it appears Goodell has been over compensating with the SAINTs ever since being accused he helped them. They seem to have a target on their backs from 99% of the officials. It also appears they push the harshest of all penalties and suspensions on the SAINTs. Every since the Vikings fans boo hooed and wha wha cried about the SAINTs hurt Brett Favre and "cheated them!" Goodell has bent over back wards to punish the SAINTs. Sean Payton has cost himself about 2 maybe 3 game loses each year when he outcoaches himself. At times he has a brain fart and calls what he obviously knows are crap plays at the wrong times in games where a simple first down can end the games YET he gives the football back to the other teams (like NY Giants) a week ago to come from behind and win. Seen him do this each year since he been here. YET he is by far the best coach ever been or ever will be head of NO SAINTs I am sure in my lifetime of watching since day ONE! N.O. owes a lot of thanks to two Head Coaches, Jim Mora and Sean Payton. The two greatest Coaches to walk our sidelines ever. GO SAINTS GO...

4 Southern California refs and an obvious NFL agenda.

Saints win the Rams game and beat Brady and the Patriots and Drew drops the mic.

Brady never comes to Tampa and probably comes to the Saints.

Amazing how the NFL massages the narrative and outcomes.

Long post didn't read it all but the main correction, Roger Goodell had nothing to do with stopping Benson from moving the team it was Paul talligubue, its 2am and I'm loaded can't spell

Thanks..... You sound similar to me. I am up all night when most folks are doing the right thing. Catching the ZZZs we all need. Yeah. The NFL we can thank for SAINTs still being here. Benson was packing up.
