Yeah but he put Jacob Blake’s name on his helmet. All is forgiven.

Everyone in here is arguing with the benefit of hindsight. People would have gone (were going?) nuts at the thought of drafting Mahomes at the time. You’re acting like they passed on him today.

Yup. Would have been the most fun chapter in Saints history

Absolutely not.

Sean Payton said he had Mahommes graded higher than any other QB/player in the history of the draft.

Sean Payton also said he would of drafted Mahommes if he was there at our pick.

Knowing Drew Brees situation.

Sean Payton made one of the biggest whiffs in the history of the NFL draft.

Easy trade to move up one spot.

Easy.

He sat there and did nothing.

1. There were several posters including myself included, who were behind drafting Mahomes. We were a small minority but we recognized the potential of Mahomes back then.

2. It's hilarious that these same posters commenting today, saying we should have drafted Mahomes or even traded up to secure him are the same posters who said Mahomes would be a bust because he came from Texas Tech or they said the team would be fine with Brees until he was 45.

3. And yes, people were losing their minds at every article posted that came out back then that even mentioned Payton pre draft workouts or his infatuation with Mahomes.

Hope you’re not referring to me.

I was always in full support of finding our next franchise QB as every team should.

Green Bay knows what they are doing.

Bill Bilichik wanted to trade Tom Brady but the owner wouldn’t let him.

The 49ers traded Joe Montana.

The Packers traded Brett Favre.

I could go on and on.

Sean Payton was comfortable with Taysom Hill

And then he was comfortable with Jamie’s Winston.

Which is proof of the two combine aspects I've spoken on in the past. There's National & there's Blesto. Teams trade scouting information whether uninformed posters want to hear that or not. KC got word about Payton's infatuation with Mahomes through one of these scouting programs & it's why they moved up one spot ahead of the Saints. People think scouting information is this big secretive thing but it's really not.

No he was not. He was set to take Mahomes but KC jumped 1 spot in front. The only thing Payton should have done differently was kept his mouth shut but instead he kept glowing about Mahomes pre-draft workouts to the media.

But only you have the top secret info?

My point is if Sean Payton knew he wanted Mahommes

Sean Payton should have traded up to insure he got him.

Just like he traded up for many players in the past.

In my opinion it was a major frick up.

Everybody can make excuses.

He traded up for Davenport that’s hurt every year and probably gave up way too much for him.

But he sat there and let KC trade up and take his guy.

If KC knew about us, how come we didn’t know about them?

One of the biggest frick ups in draft history.

Remember that time earlier in this thread where you talk about how many busts Sean Payton has traded up for?

You’re arguing with the benefit of hindsight.

Bust or not

You take the guy you want.

We have traded up many times.

For defensive and offensive lineman

How do you not trade up for what you think could be your next franchise QB

Once again

Sean Payton said Mahommes was the highest rated player by him ever.

Because the Bills needed a corner at the time & it looked like they were locked in to take Lattimore. Instead, KC knocked, they made the trade, got an extra pick & got Tre White at 27.

How can I be arguing with hindsight

when Sean Payton admitted Mahommes was his highest graded player in draft history

And admitted he was going to draft him before KC stole him from us?

Like I said

This board is in total denial.

Bring some more posters on to argue your ridiculous point.

Enjoy Taysom Hill

Enjoy Jamie's Winston

While every other team in the NFL is trying their best to get a franchise QB

We have Jamie’s Winston and Taysom Hill.

Thank you Sean Payton

I can’t even begin to get into how much you’re assuming and, again, arguing with the benefit of hindsight.

But, after a quick glance at your post history, it’s clear you have some weird issue with Sean Payton that you can’t get over. So, I hope you’re able to get over that at some point.

Sadly I don’t think this board will get over it.

And Sean Payton

He will be a Hall of Fame Coach because of Drew Brees.

Unless his one year suspension and scandal keep him out

Everybody in the Saints organization in any position of importance has become extremely wealthy since the SuperBowl
