We traded a pick swap in the last two rounds, the same thing that Houston did for our dogshit punter. Its a flyer so that instead of being cut and a FA you have him on the roster on a rookie contract and can cut him yourself. It really means nothing.

2. We got rid of the exact type of WR y'all want to acquire when we added him (Cooks).

I didn't know that is what we wanted to do.

No sane team on earth is factoring a guy with 12 receptions for 87 yards that they didn't draft into their plans.

You are wrong. You are a complete fool if you think the Saints aren't addressing WR because of Polk.

They see him as a guy with talent that was hurt that they were able to buy low on, and cutting him doesn't effect your cap in any appreciable way. If he pans out you've got a cheap player that has talent

They are not factoring him as their WR4 pre-OTAs and Training Camp.

What in the hell are you smoking man

That's tough because there's so many guys you don't know who necessarily, you know, we might add or leave but at least for sure that I know that we're going to ride with. I think the growth and expansion of Devaughn Vele, and Ja'Lynn Polk as well, I think those guys have kind of been under the radar."

This is a quote from our QB. So yeah Polk is a meaningless non factor because fans say so. frick our QBs opinion, common sense, and the fact that we haven't targeted a WR yet. Those are the "real" meaningless opinions.

Our starting QB says Polk will be a factor but an anonymous fan said otherwise so I guess I have to pick a side.

He is, in fact, a non factor in any of our decisions. They are not determining their Free Agency strategy or Draft strategy for a guy that has 12 receptions for 87 yards and missed his entire 2nd season with injury.

This is not hard stuff.

nd the fact that we haven't targeted a WR yet.

How do you know we haven't? And in what universe would that have anything to do with Polk? Maybe they just don't like any of the guys that already signed and what they signed for.

How dense of an opinion this is. This isn't just about WR. Salary is salary. Adding a WR for $5-$15mil is salary. $15mil salary is $15mil salary that can be used anywhere.

You aren't just outweighing Polk vs another WR. You are comparing Polk vs that guy + whatever else you can add to the roster for the difference in salary.

Yeah that's a fricking factor. Throw in that our QB actually likes the WR and then its a bigger factor.

Oh sweet irony

Once again, Polk himself doesn't factor into that decision.

Yes, salary factors into signing a WR.

I'm not going to argue with you. You clearly are stuck on believing that Polk is worthless and means nothing to this team. I won't be able to convince you otherwise esepcially if providing comments from our own QB isn't enough.

There's a chance this team values Polk higher than what fans perceive. That also may have implications on other WR's and our willingness to spend additional salary on FA WR's. That's it. I'll just leave it there.

Clearly

You really are just either willfully illogical or unfathomably bad at reading comprehension.

I haven't said this. No one has said this. I thought it was an incredibly shrewd move on Loomis's part that I hope works out.

This is the simplest point of all time:

The Saints could LOVE Polk with every fiber of their being.

An NFL team is not going to factor a guy like him pre-ota and TC into any of their decision making whatsoever. He cost them almost nothing, and cutting him costs them nothing. His salary is negligible in the grand scheme.

That is the only point. There is simply no argument otherwise.

Would expect Shough to say anything but good things about anyone on our team?

The only opinion you don’t care about is the Patriots giving away the 37th pick for nothing after a year or the opinion that he was the worse WR in football as a rookie.

Going fishing with a guy and saying he has been kind of under the radar (no shite) in not a predictor of success

I am having a laugh. But i do hate how extreme this board has to be sometimes. Why can't there be a realistic chance he is our WR3/ WR4? Why does he either have to be a complete bust or have jokes about being OPOY? Is it really impossible to think a guy has upside, hope he does well, and have a realistic expectation of him becoming a WR3/ WR4?

Shough's comment + the fact that we haven't signed anyone worth a shite should push people closer to the middle.

No one is saying he CAN'T do it.

fug these pessimistic bitches. polk is a 2nd round talent that was misused in a year w fricking an incompetent coach that got fired, a rookie in maye that didn't know his head from his arse in the system, the polk had the sads that year. We got him, new life, dude is the next joe horn as far as i am concerned.

NE is so devoid of WR talent and yet they shipped Polk off for breadcrumbs? That is enough to tell me he will never be worth a lick.

Chad gets it. Be more like Chad.

He is really getting alot of shite for being a 2nd rd pick with limited production. The fact that he's getting more shite than Vele did is crazy to me. Y'all only gave Vele a chance because he was tall. Being tall has factored in more for fans than being drafted 5 rds higher.
