The feeling in league circles is that general manager Mickey Loomis will lean towards someone he knows, with Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn -- who narrowly lost out to Allen last time around -- a frequent name mentioned. Interim coach Darren Rizzi is beloved in the building and expected to be a candidate, especially with the way a locker room decimated by injuries has continued to fight for him. Mike McCarthy and Bills OC Joe Brady have Saints roots, too. But the team is looking into all the top candidates.

Oh lawd

If he is on a short leash to get us through the next two cap seasons, OK.

This is why I’m ok with it. We need to start the rebuild and show a coach a trajectory. I don’t think we will be able to get a big coach that wants to walk in to the mess right now.

We are done. Mickey is infallible and untouchable. Its truly bizarre. Guy must have a whole pit of dirt on Gayle.

100% the wrong way to approach it.

If you can’t attract a “top name” you take a chance on a young guy that has “vision”. You want to start building a culture while you are bad so it’s there when you’re good.

You don’t hire a sacrificial lamb

Brady or Coen

Someone remind Mickey that Brady has a SP connection.

If we hire Glenn I’m done with this franchise. Will just be the same shite as Allen and we’ll be looking for another HC within 4-5 years

A yes man who is just happy to be an HC who will blindly ignore Loomis’ spending habits

You should be done for Gayle allowing Loomis to call the shot instead of having a GM search as well.

Sell the team.

If that's true, Gayle has turned into Mecom, and Loomis is Bum Phillips. Remember, he made all the personnel decisions, because he was the HC and GM. Brought all his cast offs from HOU.

I said months ago I’d be suprised if it’s not Joe Brady or Glenn.

Loomis doesn’t care about winning. He cares about being in charge and having a yes man.

Lauscha will let it happen. Gayle makes as many decisions as Joe Biden. He has complete control. So long as he keeps getting stuff named after her he does as he pleases. And keeping Loomis may be self-preservation, How many guys in Lauscha's job live in a house valued almost double the owners?

I think Gayle makes some top-down moronic decisions for both the Saints and Pelicans, all based on stupid shite like "he's a good Christian man"

I just don’t understand how after the shite show tenure Dennis Allen just had you want to hire basically the same type of coach?

No hate to Glenn I don’t have anything against him just feels like Deja Vu with Allen. Give me Joe Brady and call it a day
