The average drunk uncle at a BBQ is both less informed and more vocal in their Saints opinions than most posters on here..

And there are magnitudes more of those people

I do believe you and I were the original taysom truthers.

I Still don't understand why they only run power with him.

They could do so much cool shite with him.

Near the goalie they need to run the jump pass.

Taysom could never be a pure QB. Taysom could never be just a WR. Taysom could never be a north south bruising RB.

But…. He could be all 3 in one game.
We are witnessing a legend. Even if we don’t win a Super Bowl with him, he’ll always part of saints lore.

Mate you have been right about the great Taysom Hill for years, and it's a big reason why you are the best poster in the history of Saints Talk.

Hill did what Tim Tebow should have done...become a role player. He's making good money, plus he's still getting snaps at the highest level of football. Definitely born during the wrong era...he's more reminiscent of the old single wing football days when QB's were more than QB's.

Taysom has 4.4ish speed. Tebow is 4.7plus speed.

But yes, Tebow could have dabbled in other spots to try to hang on his career longer.

qb position from what taysom can be doing full time

Taysom does not possess the arm strength & deep ball throwing ability to be an every Sunday starting QB in this league. He's got one of the ugliest "deep" balls I have ever seen, and he threw another horrible one against the Bears that Shaheed had to make a crazy aware & athletic play to catch the ball so it would not be intercepted because Taysom cannot throw it deep.
That said he is excellent in his current slash role and I do wish they would use him to pass a bit more to keep the defenses more honest when he's in. Playactions or sprint/roll outs with him could be very effective. Anything beyond 20 yards though is questionable.

Please show your supporting evidence to the contrary....

The youtube link here is every Taysom pass attempt from 2018-2020. I looked but could not find video of every pass from '21 & '22

Every Taysom pass attempt 2018-2020

You can look at these time stamps for each pass attempt greater than 20 yards

0:49: 39 yard pass severely underthrown to Thomas against the Vikings that should have been a TD with a decently thrown ball instead of sliding come back catch at the 13
2:25: 46 yard pass severely underthrown to Ginn that gets picked off by Steelers
3:05: 31 yard pass perfectly placed to Kamara against Eagles
4:55: 34 yard underthrown pass incomplete on fake punt against Niners
6:10: 50 yard severely underthrown pass complete to Deonte Hardy against the Vikings that should have been a TD

Taysom underthrow to E.Sanders
Again another horribly underthrown deep ball. There is a reason why Taysom excels in the short yardage & redzone situations, but week in week out for consecutive seasons he would not be a very good QB. It wouldn't be all that different of a preparation than what we had against the Bears last week and should have against the Vikings this week. Think of Brees' last 2-3 seasons here when defenses knew we were limited to basically within 25 yards because he couldn't launch a deep ball without being able to step up into it, but Brees was able to still have success due to his reads & accuracy that is simply levels above where Taysom is

Couple throws he'd like back in his career. Maybe 1 or 2 throws are stretching out what he does best. He has superb nfl arm talent in the 20-45 yard windows. There's no debating that ability. The Sanders completion was an 18-23 game for 233 add 50 yds rushing with 2 rushing tds, no turnovers.

Taysom is an awesome football player, an incredible competitor, I'm sure a great teammate and I can't imagine any of 31 other teams would not want him on their football team. But he is not a starting NFL QB. And I doubt very much any of those other 31 teams would want him to be their starting QB. That takes nothing away from his accomplishments and the fact that he is a hell of a football player. But you desperately trying to make him into something he simply isn't does no one any favors.

The constant media circus around him didn't help his cause any either. No coach wants to deal with all that for someone that's not elite level.
