Per PFF, Apple had a great game yesterday.

Per Twitter:

quote:

Eli Apple had his best performance as a Saint against the Bucs yesterday. In 46 coverage snaps, he was targeted 9 times and allowed a single catch for 21 yards. Also added 2 PBUs. His 46 snaps per completion are second-best among all CBs in Week 14.

Great bounce-back game from last week.

Coincidence he had a great game when Payton ordered for him to play close at the line? I don’t think so.

Why? Remember when this board said the Saints had the best Oline in football and they said they have been good but not the best? Last two games seems to show they may have been on to something.

Im sure that has nothing to do with an Old Bushrod replacing one of the best tackles in football.

Definitely his best performance as a Saints player, but I think he got away with a few holds and was called for at least 1 flag. I think there were 2, but the announcers kept mixing him and Vonn Bell up (#24).

A more accurate passer completes at least 2 more passes against him. With that said, definitely an improvement for him.

I think that’s more due to the fact that Bushrod has bottomed out. We got lucky getting 3 good games out of him.

Sorry but it hasn't just been Bushrod (Although he had a few issues against Tampa).
The run blocking has been mediocre all year.

Chris Godwin, who Apple primarily matched up with, had 1 catch on 10 targets. That’s crazy.

My eye test from that TV camera angle where we can't see half the field is more reliable!!

Do you review all 22 fim after each saints game before posting opinions on this board? Break down each play with who has what assignment?

Or is it just eye test and yours is better than PFF?

I swear, I will never understand what makes people so critical of PFF. They simply analyze statistics to evaluate performance..

The same people who say
quote:

Stop reading at PFF

are the same people who will point to records/stats to argue that Brees is the goat, or to prove how well the defense is playing.

Stats don’t tell the whole story, but it’s certainly a big part of the story.

And if the bucs scored more points than us, they would have won the game.
