Per Duncan, MT has become an increasingly big problem, contract guarantees may be null...

This is from a PFT article (i know) that quotes Jeff Duncan I assume from an Athletic article:
uh. Wow.
This is from a PFT article (i know) that quotes Jeff Duncan I assume from an Athletic article:
quote:
Duncan reports that the suspension “had less to do” with the fight than it did his conduct after the fight. He reportedly “talked back” to coaches (including the head coach) and “obstinately refused counsel” after the incident. It was the insubordination demonstrated by Thomas that resulted in his suspension for conduct detrimental to the team.
Duncan explains that the Saints were sending Thomas a message, based on a growing reputation for being “difficult.” He “too often” has “crossed the line,” per Duncan, barking at trainers for failing to properly tape his ankle, accusing a staff member of going through his mail, and generally demonstrating an “unpredictable, aloof personality” that has alienated the team’s P.R. staff.
At one point, coach Sean Payton had to address the situation directly with Thomas during training camp.
quote:
Here’s the other far more problematic wrinkle: The suspension jeopardizes his remaining guarantees, amounting to $12.6 million in 2021 and $15.35 million in 2022.
Per the language of the contract, a copy of which PFT has obtained, the suspension makes those guarantees “null and void.” That would leave Thomas without the full financial security that comes from his long-term contract, and it would allow the Saints to easily move on from him after either of the next two seasons if his performance dips, if he can’t stay healthy, or if they simply decide they’ve had enough.
uh. Wow.

Damn! Always have a way out! Loomis is a genius.

We already knew it was less about the fight and about his attitude or whatever.

Again. This dude is a dick bag. Great at catching a football but more and more kind of sucks as a person.

And this is the guy Drew Brees went full on SJW BLM for. Drew didn’t want to upset Michael Thomas and have his best receiver sit out in protest but now Michael Thomas might be gone anyways. Good job Drew.

Seems he believes he's bigger than the team.
The locker room is toxic right now and it seems to all start with taking Jenkins back, almost seemed to emboldened MT13

Lol where might he be going?

Best WR in football but a head case.

Have a meeting and say team comes first or you are done. It’s that simple.

I think he’s beyond frustrated with being out hurt. We know he wanted to come back in week 2.
Look, I wish he was a choir boy and nice to trainer and it was one big kumbaya fest. But he’s not and it doesn’t matter unless it impacts on the field play. We know he got in fights at OSU all the time, we know he’s an emotional guy, this comes with the territory.
I think most, if not all, of this will be resolved when he’s healthy and playing and any reading deeper into this is pure speculation and trying to confirm your own biases.

The fact that you are defending him is pretty alarming

Alarming why? I’m just a fan who wants to have great players. I don’t make any decisions lol

So much for that “great locker room culture” our local reporters always raved about. We have to have one of the most toxic locker rooms in the league at moment. So many fricking douchebags under one roof.

I can't say I ever expected it to be to this level with Mike. What a 180 in my eyes.
His first few years working with Drew he had this boyish admiration for him that made him seem so genuine to me. Couple that with how soft spoken he is and his charitable side, I am surprised he is such an arse.
I always thought the on the field aggression was just his competitive side.

I do not want a rookie QB coming in during the next few years and having to deal with this cancer.

If Michael Thomas is gone, we're pretty much back to square one with this offense minus having Kamara locked up.
Anyone rooting for them to kick him to the curb need to be prepared for how much worse it will get, especially if Brees is still the one slinging it around. Sanders isn't a long term solution, Cook is a 50/50 head case, Smith......who knows. Thomas carried the passing attack last year. If he's too problematic and is toxic for the team, than it needs to be done, but that's a colossal loss.

What is it about WRs that makes them become divas? Even if they don't start out as one they eventually get there it seems
