People act like fights don’t happen at practice. I also love the posts talking about “ the locker room” like they have any fricking clue

You know who clearly doesnt agree with your take on this situation?
The New Orleans Saints organization.

That’s cool. It doesn’t bother me nor do I have delicate sensibilities with people who hold different viewpoints from me.

I'll be honest, all this Mike Thomas stuff is kind of shocking me. I didn't know he was a problem player at all...on the surface, he always seemed to be a team guy and very hard-working.
The Saints don't usually put up with this, no matter the caliber of player.
All aboard the Marquez Callaway pain train...

Except that you label them as "people who have delicate sensibilities" simply because they hold different viewpoints as you.
Just because you tack on a "ha whatever" attitude to your opinion doesnt somehow make you "above it all" when you are as adamantly expressing your opinion as those you are criticizing.

The only thing I’m criticizing is the notion that he assaulted a teammate, because of course that’s silly.
I don’t care if you like or dislike him as a person.

He literally punched a dude during an argument.
Thats assault....its not even debatable. lol
Maybe you think its acceptable, or less serious, or whatever. But its still assault.

Yes I do think fights at football practice are acceptable. Not everyday, but they happen and it’s ok.

You thinking those forms of assault are ok and regularly occurring is fine. You dont get to say its not assault lol.

And this is the guy Drew Brees went full on SJW BLM for.
Just a guess, but I think the dust up MT started with Brees over his statements was the first strike that led to his game suspension. That was his first act at bringing a problem into the chemistry of the team. Brees, Payton, and everyone put out a front that all is good from all of that, but we have seen all this before with prominent offensive players who bucked Brees and Payton and those two players were not long after former saints players.

I guess I don’t see it as assault because it’s not assault in the traditional sense, i.e. jumping someone at a bar.
I don’t consider 2 padded men fighting assault, though yes technically any attack could be labeled assault.
Anyway, I just hope he comes back strong and healthy

The suspension jeopardizes his remaining guarantees, amounting to $12.6 million in 2021 and $15.35 million in 2022.
It's unreal how these guys piss away money. He basically violated a "Don't be a douchebag" clause and may lose 10s of millions for it.

If Michael Thomas loses that money he should be featured in a episode of "When keeping it real goes wrong"
quote:
the suspension makes those guarantees “null and void.”
If true---and there's no real reason to think someone like Florio who, if nothing else, knows how to parse player contracts---then the suspension should be the end of MT's "bad behavior".
He's not *that* stupid to actually put that amount of money at risk...unless he's simply crazy like AB.

What about what Myles Garrett did?

So the Saints should have stood by their QB who didn’t even say anything wrong?
They tried to appease a few dickheads over a guy who has done so much for this franchise.
What they did to Brees was wrong.

Give him the Junior Gallette treatment. Why do these guys heads enlarge every time they're rewarded with lottery contracts. SMH It's a shame, really, it is because they can help people now that they are in a position of power, but instead they choose to go the opposite direction. Fournette had the red carpet rolled out for him in Jacksonville, few short years later it's bye-bye. I don't understand these fools!
