I’m fine with not taking a wideout but, I have a hard time believing anyone with a say in who the Saints draft would be mouthing off about it in the days leading up to the draft unless it’s a smoke screen

I seriously doubt the Saints would divulge their draft intentions to agents right now
I do think defense is the greater need with that pick and you can still find a decent WR in the second round if that's what they do

This is so silly. Saints one day before the draft: “Dear all WR’s out there, we won’t be picking you. Please tell the rest of the league. Thanks in advance.” Yea ok.

My question is when was this said? This sounds more like free agency timeframe about salary (“spending”doesn’t really matter if it’s a pick) that they’re trying to make a story about now

Maybe he started calling around to the WR's agents after he gave the interview saying we won't draft anyone with question marks or is an outlier to their expected traits.

I want Delane but I also want Bain. Edge rushers and good cover CB's are valuable. Maybe they can get a year or two out of Cam since there were no takers.

I'm not saying this guy is lying but I just don't see the upside in teams giving away their draft strategy the day before the draft
it's just hard to believe any report, especially at the last minute, but I guess we'll see
