Definitely not claiming to be an insider or anything but occasionally I do hear things that turn out to be true...and there seems to be a lot of whispers out of Airline that the Saints are fans of his. It also seems the Saints are pretty set on picking another Rookie QB this year at some point in the draft...

I feel like if that happens this board will go nuclear melt. I'm just saying, get ready just in case

Not that I want a QB but I think he’s going to be the best pro in the class

I guess the only game I seen him play in was against Bama and he didn’t do much. You would want to see a franchise qb kind of rise up in those situations. However, an argument could be made that he didn’t have the supporting cast to match up against them.

Isn’t he projected to go in the 2nd round?

QBs are so hard to project. The only QB I knew would be great was Peyton Manning. Besides him, everyone else is a crap shoot. I’ve been right and wrong so many times on what I’ve thought QBs would turn out to be that I’ve given up on them.

That being said, I like Ridder and he has potential. If the front office thinks he could come in, sit behind and compete with, Winston for two or three years then be a long term answer at QB, I’m okay with it.

I haven't seen him play. Highlights show him throwing to his first read and if not open he runs. Can anyone verify if he can go through his progressions?

I've seen him in the 1st in plenty of mocks lately. Lots of people are saying actual teams are higher on him than the draftniks are

I think Corral ends up being the best of the class.

Wish we'd address safety, OT, or WR pre draft, so we could get qb and still address other 2 spots in top 3 picks

We've addressed Safety, although obviously need 1 more. You could still get a guy like Duane Brown to play Tackle.

Who could you get at WR that moves the needle at all? I don't know of anyone.

If we aren't going qb, I hope we let on like we are. It would be nice if Pickett and willis are gone, and then someone feels they have to trade ahead of us for ridder. That is unless we really do want him

In this case, there'd almost certainly be a big time wr and t

I like Ridder and Corral. I would be happy with Corral with one of the 1st picks (if a OT and WR are the other two top picks) or something crazy in true Loomis fashion and trade up in the late 1st to get Ridder and have three first round picks.

I wouldnt be happy if we go QB. Why sign Dalton? What are we going to do with Ian Book? A first rd QB will sit for 2 years behind Winston?

Chris Simms has him the number 1 QB of this draft. I can't stand Simms, but he has a pretty good record with his first choice overall.

quote:

2018

Lamar Jackson
Josh Allen
Baker Mayfield
Sam Darnold
Josh Rosen

2019

Kyler Murray
Drew Lock
Dwayne Haskins
Ryan Finley
Jarrett Stidham
Daniel Jones
Clayton Thorson
Will Grier

2020

Joe Burrow
Justin Herbert
Jordan Love
Tua Tagovailoa

2021

Zach Wilson
Trevor Lawrence
Mac Jones
Kellen Mond
Justin Fields
Trey Lance

2022

Matt Corral
Kenny Pickett
Malik Willis
Sam Howell
Desmond Ridder

That 2019 QB outside of Murray, yikes.

If they can go Penning/Cross with 1st pick and Best WR available with second pick, I wouldn't mind Ridder at all in the second round.

Many say he’s the best in this class making adjustments pre and post snap.

He can take off running, which isn’t a bad thing when you test as one of the most atheltic QBs the combine has seen.

Can also accurately throw the deep ball better than anyone in the class

On 73 deep passes (20+ YDS) last season, Desmond Ridder recorded ZERO turnover worthy throws
