Didn't Payton say the exact same thing during his interview on Ellen:
Payton talks about GB job two minutes into interview.

Yeah, I see no reason to be upset by this. Any sane person would have preferred the Green Bay job over the Saints job.
I can't really see him wanting to leave NOLA, though. Green Bay is a historically great franchise and I'm sure Payton would have loved to be a part of that legacy, but as the Saints head coach he is creating his own legacy. Every successful team has that first golden age that every fan looks back on, and for the Saints and their fans, that will be Sean Payton's team. I really don't think there's any job that would be a step up for him at this point.

the guy obviously loves GB. why is mentioning them as a future destination so crazy?

On this board, virtually all of them. Granted, you spend waaaay more time on this site than I do, so I'll freely admit that your posts on other boards may be superlative.
Proof positive of this is your tendency to get hyperdefensive about any argument regarding the Saints. I would suggest taking a page from the SFP troll playbook: SFP will pursue an argument that is 100% idiotic yet never stoop to name calling or flames and will, in fact, argue something completely moronic with astounding seriousness. This is what makes him the most effective troll on this site.
You troll, get called a troll, and then instantaneously get a sandy vag. Huge difference and it makes it very hard to take you seriously.
Wait why the frick am I telling you how to troll better? wtf is wrong with me?
GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR

So you didn't actually look either. nice job.
guess you had your feelings hurt as well and now only look for "negative" posts but ignore others.
Dishonest and with a grudge is no way for an Emperor to rule.

At least he can now say he's the best Saints coach in history, is coaching the best Saints team in history, has the best Saints QB in history, which is the best QB in the NFL, has the #1 offense almost every year now, and having a wonderful career.

"I wanted to cry," Payton wrote. "I appreciated the heads-up. But damn!"
Probably the same thing Thompson said when he saw Payton on the sidelines in Miami this past Feb.
What a cast of "didn't wanna be here's" we have.
Payton- wanted Green Bay
Brees- wanted Miami
Bush- wanted Houston
Funny how things work out. All three are thinking "glad I didn't go there..."

I wouldn't put it past Jerry Jones to come after him if/when the Cowboys fire Phillips.
This is my fear too. I can see this happening.

Just because Jones comes for him doesn't mean that he'll go.

Yeah, I hope he is happy here. It sure seems like it. I'm not sure what his salary is with us. I know Dallas would throw the bank at him.

Kinda funny that an X coach from here got the job in Green Bay over him.

You can't really hate the man for that...he was looking elsewhere he wanted to go, then realized his destiny was with New Orleans. I forgive him for realizing it later

Not just that, but it was the team that he grew up watching, and it was his dream job as a young coach.
I'm sure that if you were to ask Drew where he truly wanted to play college ball, he would tell you UT, not Purdue.
