If we are talking about that one game in particular, the conditions didn't help and the Pats have the 6th best run defense by yards this year. Looking at one bad game and saying they don't have a run game isn't how you should judge things though, especially when they were stacking the box a lot because they did not respect Stidham.
Unless your original comment was ONLY about that game?

Well yeah that's what I was talking about.
That was the first time I'd watched a game of theirs from start to finish all season
Any other snippets that I caught came off of RedZone or if they were on primetime maybe I'd watch more chunks of their game but yes, that's what I was getting at.

Yeah, now that I go back and read what I actually said I could see why you would think that
No, I definitely wasn't trying to paint a broad brush for their whole season
I didn't really care for the way that Payton left but it doesn't bother me like it once did. I was not, however, sitting there the other day actively rooting for them to lose.
I mean that wouldn't change a damn thing you know

When the Saints were in the playoffs, offense was never the problem.
During the regular season, sure. When we got to the playoffs, especially from 2017-2020, the offense disappeared.

Gotcha. Misunderstood the angle there.

We all know SP is the OC, Payton is a huge POS.

Payton wanted Joe Brady as OC
Uh oh.. looks like his plan B isn't available anymore either.

Payton may already be halfway through his Broncos tenure, and I love that for him.

Their front office drafts better

7 points in championship game will do it. Especially when defense only gave up 10; actually 7 of that was not their fault.

I doubt he coached Stidham to drop back 20 yards and throw the ball backwards.
Maybe he called the play Nix got injured on.

Yet Payton decided to skip the 3 points and put that 4th down in his hands. Denver is now experiencing what we endured many times over. As great as Payton was for us here, this was always his biggest Achilles heel.
Payton fits the definition of hubris: excessive pride or self-confidence; arrogance.
It almost always bites him on the arse.

Injuries are a reality of the business but still is not an easy pill to swallow knowing you are likely in the SB if not for an injury on the 2nd to last play.
It’s definitely tough for Payton. I feel about as sorry for Payton as he does for the Saints fiasco with Dennis Allen the last couple of years.
