Why wouldn't he? There's still a chance to secure the #2 seed.

I agree... 100%

Maybe just MAYBE it will put an end to the 150 threads that will be created up until kickoff about what Payton will do. But I seriously doubt it.

No way the 49ers lose to the Rams. St. Louis as lost 8 games in a row. We should play Brees maybe a half and then rest up for Atlanta.

Our loss to the Rams really fricked us but Roethlisberger's injury was way worst than what we had thought the week leading up to the Steelers vs 49ers on MNF. His play really didn't give the Steelers a chance to beat San Francisco that night.

I agree with you but we never know what could happen. The Rams did beat us but my only problem with the comparison is timing. The 49ers KNOW that they need to win this game to lock up the # 2 seed. Add in that this is a division game for both teams. I just don't see them taking St. Louis too lightly.

Of course Drew is gonna play for a while. They aren't gonna let Brady get that record.

If Brady re- broke the passing yard record on Sunday I'd lose my shite.

That alone is reason enough for Brees to play.

Well, Payton can follow the score in that game and make the decisions that he needs to. But you've got to start full speed ahead and make the 49ers play. If we say that we're going to start Chase Daniel, then the 9ers get to play their scrubs. Make them earn it.

You're one of those that loves every opportunity to post those images at the worst and most idiotic times. Calm down buddy.

I'm not posting this as a "HEY GUYS BREES IS STARTING THIS WEEK" It was more confirming what Payton said not only from this but from a press conference today. You know, we have to do these kinds of things around here because there will be threads leading up to kickoff asking "Will the starters play?" etc.

There have already been 20 threads talking about sitting or starting the players and some of Payton's comments earlier in the week made some freak out and come to this board calling for his firing.

So chill the frick out

Pitt annihilated the Rams last week with Charlie Batch at QB.

naw, he needs to always be competiting. gotta keep brees focused because this is crunch time. we have to battle the panthers and then the falcons again. cant get ready for a team like the falcons by sitting and resting.
