I actually printed out Adam Schefter's twitter, burnt it, mixed the ashes with water, added a pinch of cocaine and whiskey, and injected it into my inner thigh a few days ago.

im not a member, what exactly are the ratings based off of?
For linemen, they look at pass/run/screen blocking, penalties, qb pressures/hits/sacks. They break down each snap for every player and give a positive/negative rating on the applicable elements for that play. There is of course a human element involved in the decision rules, but it's the most thorough/in-depth site I've come across.

Kreutz was good.
Yeah, he aint what he used to be. Having watched them the past few years the entire O-line was terrible.

Reading some of the Bears message boards, Olin's last couple of un-Pro-Bowl-like seasons have inspired Reggie-ish Love-Hate camps:
quote:
Forte ran for his highest yards/play last season! No freaking way Olin was the problem! Resign Olin Kreutz Please!
quote:
And it doesn't change the fact that often on run plays (especially at the goal line) he was routinely blown up.
quote:
Who is saying Olin was the problem? Why cant you people understand what happened with the negotiations!?!?! Bears Offered 3mil, Olin wanted 5 mil so the Bears met in the middle and offered 4 mil as a final offer and Olin walked. 5 mil for an nfl center is all star pro bowl $. The Bears didn't CUT olin or anything, they offered him a VERY VERY VERY reasonable amount for a 34 year old center who is all but retired. Your anger should be towards Olin for not accept a very reasonable offer.
quote:
If you are the "undisputed leader" of a squad that sucks, you are the problem. Our O line needed to be "blown up" like Kreutz on a goal line run play.
quote:
Uhhhhhhh. Centers never block one-on-one. They help with double teams. Even against a 3-4 defense an OG is always assigned to the NT.
quote:
PFF had him best pass blocker but 32nd ranked center overall. Very bad in run game. Love Olin a lot, but he spend the majority of last year either on the ground or on Cutler. Dude was almost never on his feet.
quote:
Yes, and of those 52 sacks you are referring to, one of them was givin up by olin, with frank "oh my God" on one side and jamarcus webb on the other giving up almost 10 each. And so what you are saying is becuz Beekman didnt work out, than trying to bring in a young prospect doesnt make sense? I mean grooming young players as replacements is a formula that has been proven to fail time and time again right? You want to fix the sack problem, it doesnt start with kreutz, it starts with your personnel on the outside that cant recognize a blitz and/or is just to bleep slow to block a DE.
quote:
Kruetz is a great guy and leader, but has been horrible the past few seasons.I can say he probably hurt our team just as much as Williams did if not more... He got NO PUSH on the line, would literally cartwheel and fall when he was trying to block down on a different side, and literally had nothing productive except when he was double blocking someone.
quote:
Kreutz was the reason Bears made playoffs last year. Wish you were smart enough to figure that out!
quote:
Leadership and line calls will be missed, but he simply cannot play anymore, especially in this division with Suh, Fairley and Raja. He can't handle guys like that anymore.
quote:
Kreutz made the line adjustments in Dallas. Recommended they go to a quick pass strategy to counter the Cowboys pass rush. Also balance run / pass play calls. That was the blueprint for the offense success the rest of the season!
quote:
After walking over $500k, signing somewhere else (like New Orleans) for a 1million dollar contract would be a slap in the face!

Wonder if Kevin Mawae would come out of retirement...

Kreutz is a bad arse with big time mean streak. He is the kind of guy you want protecting Brees. Center is the most underated position on the fieldn and you rarely run the well without a good one.Sign him up.

PFT says he turned down a 1yr/$4m deal from the Bears, so not so sure about the cheap thing.
Maybe he is tired of that place, or sees the handwriting on the wall. They have done NOTHING in free agency. Defense is not what it used to be. Lovie can't spell offense.

Sounds like a perfect fit for the NO Saints. We need to protect the pocket at all costs so Drew can stay healthy, work his progressions, step up and make the throw.

Jason LaCanfora on NFL All Access this morning is saying Kreutz to New Orleans basically is a done deal and it's just a question of preparing the papers right now. Saying announcement expected today.

Well that's interesting. I hope it's not more than 4 mil this year

That would make this my favorite signing. And it might be considering we give him the opportunity to play between the best guard tandem in the NFL.

How in the world did they base these Centers rankings? Does anyone believe Olin was the worst in the league? I don't. The Bears' players sure don't believe it. Don't believe Goodwin was 23rd either.

I doubt we're paying him for 4.5. I would guess its less, 3 mill at the absolute highest.
Posted on 8/5/11 at 11:44 am to Fun Bunch
I'm seriously leaning towards the Bears game being a 35-13 type deal.

I still like Goodwin
He is younger and 11 mill 3 years is not that much

They only want a 1 year stop gap. Tennant will be given the keys next year for sure.

Seems like he is coming to 'whodat' nation...

Love the F.O.

But it's obviously a possibility. Otherwise, Kreutz would not have been standing on the sideline with general manager Mickey Loomis on Thursday night, watching the Saints' first full-squad practice.
and

The Saints clearly are serious about Kreutz. Loomis chaperoned him around the practice field on Thursday night, and Saints coach Sean Payton spent extra time talking to him at the beginning of the workout.

I'll be interested to see what they sign him for (if he indeed signs here). Even with a drop-off in on field performance, it's hard to deny that Kreutz would have a positive impact. From all accounts, he is a smart, tough player and a team guy. Tenant could learn a lot from him; kind of like the Sharper/Jenkins dynamic. Just don't expect an all pro performance.
