Schefter confirms that it's a one year deal.

Some details: Former Bears C Olin Kruetz and the Saints reached agreement on a one-year deal. Kruetz takes Ditka route from Chicago to NO.

Solid pickup. He will help bridge gap with Tennant.

I really like the sigining. It allows Tennant another year to learn all the while probably backing up the entire interior of the OL.

Olin Kruetz will be a Saint, I'm told. Vet center to get 1yr deal worth roughly $2M, with chance to double it in incentives. More money...

Olin Kreutz turned down more money from two other teams, including the Bears, to join the Saints. As the 34-year-old said, it wasn't about the money

So basically, Goodwin wanted 3-4 years. We just wanted him one more to groom tennant another season. So we get Kruetz to fill that role. Sound about right?

Told you he wasn't getting paid 4.5 mill. I guess he can with the incentives, but he's not getting paid so much that if Tennant plays better, they bench him.
This is a great move.
Bring in Matt Roth now.

Saints agreed to terms with C Olin Kreutz on a one-year, $2 million contract.
The Matt Tennant experiment didn't last long. Kreutz replaces Jonathan Goodwin in what projects as a downgrade in on-field performance. While Kreutz has a big name, the 34-year-old graded out 33rd among 34 qualifying centers in Pro Football Focus' 2010 ratings. Perhaps a change of scenery and better offense around him will help Kreutz, but he's clearly on a career downswing.

Adding Olin Kreutz between Carl Nicks and Jahri Evans creates one of the best interior line blocking units in recent memory.
Holy shite, Skeletor had something positive to say about the Saints.

Scott van Pelt just announced the deal.

I'm holding out hope Tennant can outplay Kreutz in traning camp and preseason... with Kreutz being an oh shite plan ready.

SVP calls it a win for the Saints and big loss for the Bears
