I still don’t understand the pick didn’t we sign kapsagonn from the chiefs. Who starts cam Jordan and Davenport unless turner can play inside and replace rankins.

Marcus Davenport - a physical freak who doesn't love the game of football and refuses to play through any injury

I been reading this board for two months. Then why didn’t you goofballs talk about the before. It never went on any of your boards.
Look, if you want to say “I support all Saints Management decisions”, that’s fine. But let’s just stop with this was “common knowledge” crap when all these top board posters putting together they mock drafts never even had DE listed as a need.

Davenport slides inside all the time. This guy can also play inside and out. Saints love players that have multiple position skills. I melted than laugh at this pick because I have never heard this guy mentioned by any talking heads.
But after reading up on him and knowing we need to put Brady on his arse I felt better. Can never have enough pass rush. It’s the only way to beat great QB play. I’m good.

I’m not pretending to know better either way. Do I think there was better value left on the board, sure. Guy turns all Pro, I’ll sit up here and dong the bell that I was wrong.

“Top board posters” are just the same people that look at mock drafts and regurgitate the same available players.
It wasn’t a deep year for DE for the real value was at CB and WR, or maybe LB, and all the mock drafts reflected that with who was available when we picked.
Then the real draft happened and suddenly the magic trade button doesn’t work anymore. I traded into the top 1 by giving up my 1st next year and a 3rd. So realistic.
DE wasn’t our most glaring need, but it was a need, and from the way it looks the Saints top player on the board was a DE.

I don’t think many people saw this pick coming and I will reserve judgement ATLEAST until I see him on the field in a game lol. I’m not thrilled, but we didn’t give up picks and all the favored CB’s were off the board. DL depth is great, although I thought it would have been a DT before an Edge guy but we’ll see.

Day 2 of the draft will be very important for us, & much more important than the 1st round.
We have 3 picks, & I wouldn't be surprised if we end up taking anywhere from 2-5 players tonight.

Most people were pumped about Lattimore other than the hamstring issues. He was mocked in the top 7 consistently, sometimes in the top 5 and fell to 11. People freaked out about Ram and Davenport and Peat.
