Between that and the signal to snap, we're full of issues.

Summary?

Moore sucks more than you think

If Nick Underhill can pick up your tendencies, what do you think an NFL team can do?

Yeah, that we can’t run. That’s the tendency.

Every team has tells. One of the reasons you hear coaches harp on about “execution.”

our problem is we are also largely devoid of talent across the board. Add to that some pretty bland schemes in the run game and we are where we’re at. We just barely started tapping into play action.

I remember in 2023 the media had to practically bully Carmichael into using presnap motion.

They are showing a tendency to run right into the defender with no blocking.

Whether its a feint or not so sure but Tyler does seem to change the play at the line a bunch?

Not only do teams know when we’re running they also know exactly when we’re snapping the ball.

The whole offense is a mess right now and a perfect example of the lack of details with Moore.

Teams definitely know when Saints are running ball by alignment or something gives it away. Drew continues to say there are tells in Saints run game and with nonplay action that hurts

I only remember one PA against the Steelers, and it was the 50 yard bomb to Brown. Per one of our AI overlords, we ran 4 PAs all game and averaged 24 yards per play, so we were still pretty efficient on the other 3 plays (~8 yards per play). That's impressive considering that the Saints averaged 1.1YPC that game, so PA was still effective despite no running threat.

And I think that people on this forum are underrating how big of a deal it would be if the running game issues were mostly a coaching issue. Replacing a coach is relatively cheap and easy, as it only affects the owner's pocket, not the team's talent. If the Saints could put together an average running game without changing personnel, then the offense would see a massive jump in productivity, which would be a huge boost for the defense as they'd be on the field a lot less. Saints are shockingly 22nd in TOP (I thought they would be lower), but there's not a big difference between them and #31 (about 2 minutes). The Titans are a distant #32 and hold the ball for nearly 5 fewer minutes per game than the Saints.

crazy. it helps get the receiver off the line without getting jammed and helps determine man or zone coverage. need that at times plus play action. if they do not respect your run game they will not bite on play action and that delay will get you sacked or allow pressure.

I agree with your thought process, but it seems like we're still doing well with PA. Shough supposedly has a 121 passer rating out of PA this year. No excuse to only do it 4 times against the Steelers.
