The saints not giving real injury updates is making the fanbase hate some of the team's best players. Just give an effin update!

people need to stop saying this.
its untradable as stands.
contracts can be reconstructed at any moment.
may make the trade less likely.
may make us lose a bit of leverage when a team is asked to eat more cap.
but make no mistake, its very plausible to rework the contract to move these monies somewhere else that makes it work for both sides.

Tell me more about how we can restructure his contract to eat less of a cap hit if he were traded. You can't cus it can't happen. Poor take Chad #2.

The Saints would be on the hook for a monstrous dead cap hit even with said restructures. It's just not going to happen.
Maybe I shouldn't have said so matter of fact that they can't restructure it down at all. The difference would be negligible and it's not going to happen and that's facts. Once we restructured his contract it put the odds of trading him this year at about as close to zero as possible.

i feel like you didn't understand what you just read. we could be on the hook for some but we can lessen the 25 million dead cap hit considerably if worked into trade. its plausible and there is a way. end of story.

I completely understand what I read. Just like I said previously the saints would still be eating a monstrous dead hit with said restructures. Why would they eat 10+ million in dead cap hit to receive basically nothing in return? What could they possibly get for Thomas now even without asking for another team to eat that crazy cap number? It wouldn't be much. It'd be a future 6th or 7th at the most asking them to eat it. What's the point?
After next season I doubt he'll be on the team barring a major pay cut but it'd be stupid to get rid of him before then.
