I will never understand getting in shotgun for short yardage.
These are professionals. It cannot be difficult to teach them to get under center and push forward for a few inches, even if you’re normally in shotgun.

Austin had no real function on that play except to to keep the cornerback from jamming the line. Just stay fricking still until the snap.
