But there's still dumb restrictions on when you can wear them.

~Alternate helmets cannot be worn with the teams primary uniform

~Alternate helmets may only be worn with Alternate, color rush or classic uniforms.

~An Alternate helmet worn with a classic uniform must be "historically compatible"

So white helmet or classic gold?

I would imagine that's the NFL's way of keeping all teams equal or uniform (no pun intended.)

Try to prevent certain popular teams from having multiple uniforms they can sell and make a lot of money, thus making other less popular team's jealous

The NFL doesn't want to turn into the Oregon Ducks, who do not wear the same uniform twice anytime during a 4 season stretch. The league uses the uniform kit as a marketing tool so they want to avoid such buffoonery.

The nfl would dress the players in clown suits if it made them more money.

With the halo that I designed?

[/img]

I envision a smaller FDL on the back the way the Colts do on some of they throwbacks.

Wear these with our colour rush and picture it with golden facemasks. FDL on back might look better as gold with a thin black outline (and maybe the halos themselves wouldn't need an outline - they could be "faded in" with superior graphic technology available today.

The helmets would look particularly saintly from the overhead "all 22" cameras or from our good mate Redneck's seats up in the Terrace, brah.

I added a playful "Bon Temps Rouler" wordmark (picture it in the Saints font) on the back plate of the helmet. I wanted to do something particularly Catholic or Christian, but I realize these would already be likely to get shut down by the current NFL standards, so that would really be pushing it to put some sort of message from the Crusades or something

Saints don’t have halos you moron. You were thinking of angels.

You are incorrect, mate. I will never forget the moment that I saw the famous painting inside the Pantheon of Paris as a young lad. I stood, transfixed before the giant "Le Martyre de Saint Denis" at the entrance of the grand lobby. My Mother wanted to pull me away immediately, but my father (an artist himself) calmed her and explained that St. Denis was an important figure in France and Paris, and that we would later visit a beautiful church created in his honour. In the painting, Denis is instantly beatified and the halo actually appears on his decapitated head. In the upper right hand corner of the piece, you see an Angle of our Lord racing from heaven with an additional halo of golden laurels, ready to spirit off the fallen Christian to everlasting salvation.

After about 15 minutes of staring at the work, even my Father grew a bit concerned and decided to lure me away with a macaroon d' chocolat, and the seven-year old SirWinston overheard he and my Mother whispering about how odd my reaction to the painting had been.
.
P.S. I forgive you for calling me a "moron", as it is the Christian thing to do.

ETA: There is ANOTHER Christian who has received a halo at the bottom of the steps as well after his beheading and even the executioner is taken aback at the spiritual wonders of Christ almighty.

Old school 70s gold helmet with the all white color rush would be too sweet.
