1. Has always had really talented teams and only won SB once.
2. Has never taken a below average team and coached them up to be better. He has always been born on 2nd base as a coach.
3. I can’t get out of my head what happened to his best teams in GB and Dallas….absolutely embarrassed when it mattered the most. Most recently, Kyle Shanahan out coached him tremendously in multiple playoff and regular season games. LeFleur and GB walked into Dallas and were up by 35 before halftime in the playoffs.
When he has more talent, his teams stack wins. When talent level is close, he gets his butt handed to him by other coaches.

my gut is telling me its going to be him. This team isn't ready to compete so i dont think it will make any difference.

Let's hope his contract is only 3 years.

The longer this goes the more I think we need to promote from within/get a temp guy to clean up the roster. I’d bet my house that Brady and Coen would take the jags job first if offered. Seems like Coen is the current favorite there but Brady can’t interview until next week so maybe he gets another interview in the down week. If Coen takes it then maybe you can put the full court press on Brady and hope he jumps.

We haven’t shown much interest in Coen and it almost seems like our current roster buil/cap isn’t the one the young OC type banking on their first (and maybe only) shot would want to jump at. Feel like it’s more placeholder time than anything at this point.

Brady and Bellicheck & Mahomes and Reid are the only recent teams winning multiple Super Bowls. McCarthy, CSP, Tomlin, Harbaugh, etc are good coaches that took their shot and won a title.

The Cowboys aren’t that good of a team. They beat bad teams and lost to good teams. They had a few good players, but aren’t a very good team.

I’m more worried that those Cowboys teams were so ill prepared and didn’t handle time management well.

I hear all of your points but the same could be said of SP. Also I'd LOVE to have a really fun team choke in the playoffs. That beats the hell out of not caring anymore after week 6.

Agree. I think that is why Loomis cannot hire him quick enough. I think we need to evolve and go in a different direction. Loomis wants to relive 2006 again. Problem is there is no Brees anywhere near this team and our cap is still paying for players whose prime was 5 years ago.

Beat bad teams and lost to good teams? Saints were bad and beat Dallas convincingly.

I don't think he's a great offensive mind...

He's a middle of the road head coach at best.

He doesn't have the desire to rebuild.

He'd be here cashing a check.

There’s been plenty of great coaches that have only won 1 Super Bowl. One used to be our coach.

Dude took over play calling duties from Moore and a year later he led Dallas to the number 1 scoring offense and number 5 total offense. No one ever gives McCarthy credit. But he has won a fricking Super Bowl and shite ton of games and has a damn near identical coaching record to CSP.

Is he my first choice? No. But we could do a lot worse.

I would actually be OK with McCarthy. He had a really good 4-year run as Saints Offensive Coordinator in the early 2000s. Until Brees and Payton and the pass-happy trend we have now, he had the best offenses in Saints history and usually near the top of the NFL season rankings. We won our first playoff game ever with McCarthy as OC. And our QB was Aaron Brooks.

He's a fatter Sean Payton who doesn't schmooze the national media. Hence a reputation that's seemingly less regarded than Payton. But they're almost the same coach.

They have almost the same record, and Payton only won one Super Bowl with Brees, who was just as good, if not better than Rodgers. And, actually, Payton probably had more personnel say in New Orleans than McCarthy had in Green Bay, meaning Payton had even less reason to only win one Super Bowl.

He let Dennis Allen coached team beat the breaks off him in his stadium. That right there is all that is needed to be said. He needs to take his fat arse somewhere else.
