Please bookmark this thread and we will revisit next season. He’s better at pass pro than Ingram, faster, and bigger

I think he will. Murray has some wheels and a nose for the endzone when in the red zone.

will be hard to compare if murray is the backup banger to Ingram the lead bell cow with little passing threat.

Why's everyone all of a sudden acting like Ingram is the second coming of Emmitt Smith? It wasnt all that long ago that he was considered a bust and people were wanting Hightower to start over him. With regards to Murray, I trust this staff at evaluating running backs. The only bad decision I rememeber really was Adrian Peterson and that seemed more like a chemistry issue than skill.

Ingram will do okay at Baltimore, but without a legit passing game threat, he won't be putting up great numbers in Baltimore, even if he is the bell cow.

He did about as best he's ever going to do with the Saints and the Brees passing game/OL they have.

Murray is a better pass blocker. That means teams will have to respect the pass even more when he's in since its not a guaranteed run and Brees should hopefully have more time.

He's equivalent on the ground, and despite playing on a team weaker at QB and scheming passes to the RB, he nearly matched Ingram there.

Murray did nearly the same as Ingram with shittier lines and talent blocking for him in Oakland. Let him run behind this line and see how he does.

Well, their evaluation of backs to replace Ingram for four weeks last season was beyond shitty. Now sure, part of that is you're not choosing from the best of the best when you're looking for a 4 week rental, but still.

Ingram will be running against an 8 man box defense 90% of the time in Baltimore.

Better at passpro remains to be seen, seeing how good Ingram was...

Probably Murray will be equal to or slightly less than Ingram, but that's ok AK2019 will be better than AK2018.

And the money that we would have spent on Ingram will be better spent elsewhere.

(For the record I do not believe Ingram was prepared to accept the contract he sign with the Ravens until we signed Murray and it was apparent he was not going to get the size contract he thought he's get. Once the Saints signed Murray his leverage was gone and he took what he could get.)

Ummm.. statistics back it up that he's better, so not sure what you mean with "remains to be seen".

Murray ran a faster forty. But he has lost some wheels with wear and tear to this point.

Ingram ran a slower 40, but he ran a 1.53 10 yard split which is extremely fast. Basically, Ingram is quick as shite, but not a burner. And he still has it. He is streamlined and as quick as ever.

Murray is simply a bruiser at this point. He is not going to be able to run the zone runs the way ingram does. And whether he can fill the passing game role needed to keep defenses honest is a big question mark.

Ingram will be missed. This was a mistake to lose him.

Edit: thank GOd we have Kamara. He is going to go for over 2K next year. Im going with 1200 yards rushing and 800 passing.

I think Ingram is the better overall back, but Murray is better in short yardage and at least equal in pass protection.

The Saints likely got exactly what the money indicates that they did. A slight downgrade in performance for a lower price.

No he won’t. Murray won’t play nearly as much as Ingram. He’ll be our banger in the EZ
