Drew Brees will want to play 10 years into his retirement...

Maybe NBC says give it one more year - Chris Collinsworth was promised one more Super Bowl?
Drew is going to be calling Notre Dame games with Tirico his first year.

I would not be surprised to see Brees with LAC next season as a backup and mentor.

How long should a franchise let a home-town-hero dictate the future of the franchise? IMO, not at all. If we can get a better QB (better upside, better arm, etc...) then the Saints should do it.
Drew stopped being a franchise guy 4 years ago. He could still be good enough to get us into the playoffs but is that all we want?

On the latest episode of the indispensable "GM Shuffle" podcast, the great Mike Lombardi says that you've got Drew Brees pushing a sled up a hill, proving that he still wants to play". That was a definite sign, Lombardi says and compares Drew to Silvio Dante of "The Sopranos".
Uh lots of people enjoy working out like that as a hobby.
Brees is a workout warrior obviously

Drew has not been elite for e-r years. Accurate but zero arm strength.

Or, he could be staying in shape for his new career in front of the camera.
This is what I find is so funny. I'm 55 and I still work out like I did in my 20's. Some continue to work out and train and some just give it up and give in to getting older.

Good Gawd, would he retire already. He couldn't get it done the last 4 years and Saints have had one of the best rosters in the league.
Go be a husband and a father Drew. You gave us your best and it got us a title in 2009, but his best at this point is self serving and not in the best interest of the team.

How about we keep him and use him in the red zone and for two minute drills?

I feel like drew wants to play next year .
I think the saints are in a weird position.
I think they can't wait till he retires.

He signed with the Saints on March 14, 2006. I can see him announcing his retirement on March 14 as sort of a nostalgic time to announce. I am sure the team already knows his decision and are proceeding based on that.
