Still, he always stays in his wheelhouse somehow. (Injury prone WR in 2st round)

I always find the level of arrogance by Mickey to be interesting because his draft history was really bad from 2018-2024.
The free agency signings have been really poor as well during that time. All these trash signings - Willie Gaye, Cedrick Wilson, Brandin Cooks, Derek Carr, Jamal Williams, Marcus Maye, Daniel Sorensen,
The only team that would keep him as GM would be the Saints due to Grandma Gayle.

When he said it, he was laughing and got a laugh from the reporters. I don’t think there was any arrogance on his part. I thought it was pretty funny too based on his reputation.

Can't argue with you there.

Yeah Mickey is really cocky for a guy that got bailed out by Derek lying about his injury.

I think that Mickey defers to his coaches and their preferences. Maybe the run of shite drafting was due to Payton being checked out and Dennis Allen being a dumbass.
The difference in how they handle the draft and free agency is noticeably different under KM.

He also addressed the rumors of them trying to trade up from 8.
“No, I didn’t make one call to trade up from 8. I heard that rumor too but it wasn’t true. “
He did say that they make some calls on day 2 but as you can see they were unsuccessful

Correct. He asks his coaches what type of players they want. He then gives that info to his scouts.
If he can’t convince his coaches on a player, he won’t draft them.
He said all this few months ago.
