Not a great look for Mike T but some of y’all are being retarded, we are not “Cooks ing” Mike Thomas.

That’s not what Reggie’s tweet said.

All WRs are head cases to a certain extent. Hell Antonio Brown had some questionable on field behavior early and we all know about OBJ. Thomas has never done anything like that. Thomas is an extremely competitive dude and because of that he’s probably looking at anything as motivation. But in this instance he’s clearly in the wrong, which is why he took it down.
The dude isn’t a head case like OBJ. He’s just a shite talker who backs up his play on the field. People in this thread are overreacting on both sides: calling Reggie a loser who never lived up to the hype or calling for Mike’s head, ship his arse to a new team and shite.

We get it, man. You can’t go three minutes without shitting on Reggie.

I think it's interesting how everyone on this board is getting worried about some of the things that MT is doing off the field. I am one of them. However, when I think of Saints fans like my dad, who has never been on Twitter, I assume they have no idea any of this is going on. They probably assume he's a quiet playmaker. I really hope MT matures and never has a blow up moment, but if he does, we will say we saw it coming while a lot of older fans will be blindsided.

J, the guy runs short routes almost exclusively, with a guy like Brees who has been 70%+ comp. With Brees throwing that is essentially a long handoff. And yes, that's a perfect compliment to Brees' skillset. Thomas is a bigger version of Jarvis Landry. Consider he's seeing 28% of GOAT Brees' targets, that's a recipe for stockpiling numbers. Just think if there was some big play ability in there to add some yards to all those receptions.

Thomas is extremely talented and is easily the best WR Brees has ever had to throw to, it’s not close.

Colston was putting up Thomas yards and TDs and all while his highest target share in a Brees offense was 22%! Guy was actually getting downfield and making plays. Just think if he saw 28% of the looks from Brees
Colston > Thomas
You may have an argument between Thomas and Cooks
And not a WR, but just think if Graham wouldve saw 28% target share, most he ever saw was 23% and he went 99/1310/11, MT @ 28% went 104/1245/5, Colston @ 22% went 98/1202/11, Cooks @ 21% 84/1138/9

There’s a few tweets that I can see where Thomas would get annoyed. I wouldn’t have responded like he did but Reggie wasnt just making a passing comment.

you seem way too invested in this twitter beef

Man I was letting you slide. But you using my name to much man to be a grown man. I thought you would of learned better after @RayJ humble yourself. You ain’t been right since, speak on that ??????????
I have no problems and don't care if he wants to be vocal, just seems funny that he's seemingly done the opposite of what he said since that interview.

Target share is misleading when used as a way to contextualize raw stats here, Brees volume is way down over the two seasons where Thomas has been 25%+ in target share. And pretending that Thomas getting a larger target share is a bad thing is ridiculous. Receivers earn targets, and Thomas has earned more target share than Colston or Cooks because he's better, IMO.
Drew Brees was last among qualified QBs in 2017 in average intended air yards, and this year he ranks 3rd to last in front of only check down captains Sam Bradford and Derek Carr. There's been a scheme shift within the offense. If you think they're making that change because Thomas is ineffective in the intermediate and downfield levels, you're welcome to that opinion. Does that opinion explain why noted burner Ted Ginn ranked 43 in average targeted air yards in 2017? To me, it seems like we're throwing shorter because of Brees, not Thomas.

The OP was inaccurate as to what was actually said. There was no jab about Brees

I’m not sure if that was him. In an interview with his uncle Keyshawn, he said he tried to emulate the way Keyshawn always talked trash. I think Thomas is very much a guy who embraces being the trash talker
Posted on 11/2/18 at 12:45 pm to DallasTiger45
Is he better? Or does things have to be forced to Thomas because the supporting cast is bad.
You can't tell me that Austin Carr, Ted Ginn Jr, Cameron meredith, and trequan smith are better than Lance Moore, devery Henderson, and Robert Meachem.

Perhaps platforms like Twitter have simply revealed the pervasiveness of arrested emotional development in athletes and society in general. Such delicate sensibilities these days.

Last year Michael Thomas saw the most targets in a season by a Saint WR ever. He's on pace this season to have the 2nd most targets by a WR ever. There is nothing misleading here

I never said it was bad thing

Brees is routinely at the bottom of IAY, he just always has sprinkled in downfield passes as the personnel permitted. His two best weapons now happen to be Thomas and Kamara, who do their work closer to the LOS. As for Ginn, Id like to see a target qualifier when talking about his avg air yard target. It's a bit disingenuous, though he an aging speed guy, he's not a Cooks. Despite enjoying his best, most efficient season with Brees, Ginn was still has 32 year old legs. If you want, you can look to 2016 where Cooks was 9th in avg air yard target among WRs with 100+ targets. You can even look at Thomas and his production with a true deep threat. Better Y/R, more TDs.
Yall act like it's knocking MT's skill set. He's a big body with great hands, runs precise routes. Im not taking away from him. There's just no other QB or offense that would offer him the efficiency and target share it takes to produce the numbers that he does. Call it what you will

Why don't you comment on that instead, my good sir?
