In Jeff Duncan’s article today on the Saints pursuit of Watson.

quote:

If the Saints land Watson, a lot of the credit will go to Thomas, who has spearheaded the Saints’ recruiting efforts. The star receiver has lobbied Watson via texts on the opportunity to play with Kamara and himself in an NFL version of the Big Three.

He’s also touted the strength of the Saints defense, which has ranked in the Top 10 in both total and scoring defense each of the past two seasons. During Watson’s four-year tenure in Houston, the Texans ranked 20th, 12th, 28th and 30th in total defense.

The pitch being that Watson won’t have to carry the load in New Orleans the way he did in Houston. Offensively, he could lean on Thomas, the Saints’ version of DeAndre Hopkins, and Kamara, one of the league' most dynamic playmaking backs, an asset Watson never had in Houston.

quote:

It’s notable that this is a move Payton would not have made. He was not a big Watson fan. So this isn’t just Allen’s first major venture, it’s his true foray outside the Payton Way. And it’s a bold one. How it plays out could define Allen's career in New Orleans.

Very interesting. Not the first time I've heard this.

Define we. Define like.

Personally, no, I do not like MT.

But if he wants to serve me my coffee hot and timely, I will note the good service.

This is a transactional relationship.

If outside of the coffee shop he wants to be a bitch, I will also note that.

Makes me wonder if this was already a done deal for Loomis and it is what inspired Payton to walk away.

I had heard the opposite during the draft.

I mean, play behind a good offensive line with an elite wide receiver and running back. Along with an excellent defense

It's a pretty easy sell to be honest

Considering that he stood on the sidelines during opening week 2019 and watched the guy lead what would’ve been a game-winning touchdown drive against us in less than two minutes that would’ve won the game if not for a 59 yard field goal, I can’t see why he wouldn’t be impressed by dude

Why would Sean not like Watson? That obviously more personal than he beat my team
