The Saints have added/resigned at key positions and other than the gap at LB and CB they could easily trade up for Mayfield or another QB. I would still like to see us at depth at WR/OL/TE but the front office has put us in a position to take best player available or reach for a QB in round one. Do see this happening?

ETA: This is what the latest NFL.com mock has us doing, anyway. Mock 5.0

We signed one of the best FA LBers. I wouldn't put those positions in our top 3 needs.

Wait and see if QB drops, I sure hope Saints don't give up a 2 next year to move up in 1st round.

If QB not there, take best available especially if on DL (pass rusher) or another potential OL that could slide. I don't think they address TE until round 3.

Would be nice to get up in round 2, but again, let's not give away picks next year.

There will almost certainly be a player at 27 who can help us in some way in the last couple of years of the Brees window.

Just not: K, P, RB, QB.

Or we draft as many good players as we can instead of trading away pics because we lose players by the bucket full every year.

Yep, bound to be an upper tier player at DT/DE/LB/OL/TE that could slip, one alsways does.

I'm hoping Da'Ron Payne DT slips.

If all we give up is a second next year to move up by god you do it if you honk the qb is the future. Thing is, we will most likely have to give up way more for mayfield if he’s our guy.

I would absolutely consider trading up, we have needs but none of them are what i would consider major. We’ve hit basically all of our immediate needs in a big way and all of our other needs more so relate to depth which can be had with late round picks and minimum fa signings. We get a lot of players who were injured back from last year on a team that should have been in the nfc championship. You can always go out and get a DE or a TE in FA next year that can contribute but the odds of you finding the next qb of the future in FA next year or with a late first round pick in the draft next year are slim to none. I know we’re in win now mode but I feel like the pieces to win now are there and we could set the franchise up for years to come by making a move like this.

I'd be down with that if we use a future pick.

Definitely two sides of Saints fans battling on trading up for the QB of the future in this draft.

I'm fighting for getting as many players as we can get in this years draft...

Draft night is going to be a rumble

I'm guessing defense

And we have plenty of needs. We got swept by the Vikings (yeah yeah woulda coulda shoulda, we didn't win) and the Rams, who are arguably much better now, beat us pretty solidly too. Mayfield doesn't help us win those rematches in 2018.

Pass rush and a qb, need a trainee student under brees. Dont really have one yet. Taysom hill is a work in progress but needs competition behind brees.
