Do you ever get tired of being wrong? EVER?

The point is that a fg seals the deal.

I believe they kicked a field goal.

When Will Wade draws up a play that gives Reid a free run at the basket and he is mauled w no call. He still fine?

What about if it is in the Final Four? W 20 seconds left?

Payton made similar comments already.

The no call is still ridiculous

Sure but Wade is just coaching that you do everything you can to win the game instead of playing the victim role.
As a coach you gain nothing by letting on to your players that you are a victim.

And again, every coach in America would mention the fact that there are things that you can do better, that you cant let the refs/umps impact you...etc, etc....from Little League to the Pros. This is not earth shattering.

But most coaches never coach for championships, Payton has and has won them. Playoff football is decided on very small things.

Payton obviously drew up this play to expose a coverage they got....they got the coverage, they got the play, they got the matchup, they got the DB out of position, they did it. Weeks of film study, weeks of preparation (all this execution that Wade talked about), and they had out schemed the Rams when they needed it most.

The call was made knowing that with the DB there the result would be a completion or a PI. Period.

Why would this execution not be rewarded?

I am a big Will Wade fan. He is rightly using this as a teaching moment for his team, illustrating to them how things that were in the Saints control would have prevented the game from even coming down to that last play. This may be true, but he stated it poorly. The Saints didn't LOSE the game before that last call because had the call been made the Saints would have WON the game. Period.

Wade is right. If your offense is executing correctly then you don't have to worry about putting it all together at the end.

When you get an interception inside of your opponents red zone and you cannot even convert one first down and have to kick a field goal then you've lost the possession. When you get gifts like that, that is the time to execute at the highest level . ink about it, a touchdown by the Rams on the next possession would have had the Saints down by 1......you get a touchdown or two touchdowns , we are not having this conversation. Touchdowns are the objective in any drive....6(7)>3

Beat on their asses early in the game, make them change their entire philosophy and plan.

That being said, you should expect competence from the guys tasked with ensuring a fair game

They weren’t going to beat the Rams arse. The Rams are there because they are good. It was going to be close. The Saints did what was necessary to win and were robbed.

Wade is using this for motivation. He's not right, nor does he have to be.

He's right. Despite kicking 2 FGs in the 1st quarter we still had at least 2 more possessions in the game / opportunities to put it away.

Sad, sad outcome. Our Saints did NOT play their best game. I think we can all admit that. We had many chances to win the game.

And it will hurt for a long, long time.

He can kindly go frick himself

He needed to keep this in the locker room.

Don't tell your teaching to the media. Simply say I talked about it with the team, how we can learn from that game, and leave it at that.

Of course but the point I’m making is that Wade is using this as a great teaching opportunity. He’s not focusing on what they cannot change which is the fact that the referee blew it but he’s focusing on what they can impact as players.

The Saints had an opportunity to totally change the Rams game plan early and settled for two field goals once getting into the red zone First drive bottoms out at the 20 and the next one , a gift bottoms out at the 12-13 after a turnover around the 16.....that is where the opportunity was missed.

Yeah the Rams are good, but overall their defense was suspect and Brees & Co. should have been able to exploit it

Yes we were robbed at the end because the referees don't make a call that a blind man would have made , but I think Wade is saying that if you do things right from the beginning and capitalize when you get an advantage from he opponent, you don't have t worry about the end of the game and making a play....the outcome would not be in doubt.

So let me get this straight. If Cam Jordan busted through the line a full second early, blocked the kick and ran it back for a touchdown with no flag, that would be cool cause the Rams should have done this that way and done that this way and already have won. Okay. Stick to basketball, you seem to be good at it.

He IS focusing on his team. He told that to his team to help make them better. He is correct, execution at the beginning of games is just as important as what happens at the end of games.

It was a very smart way to turn what happened into a learning experience for his team.

I am pretty sure it wasn’t anything personal against the Saints. You guys are way too emotional and sensitive,

So, if any of the Tigers miss a shot, the loss is on them.

Got it, Will. This will be thrown back in your face.
