Loomis gets and should get credit for bringing in payton. It was his best move. He helps with the cap, but ireland and payton make most of the personnel decisions. He sucked at that before payton got here. Its not a coincidence that payton made it better when he got here and ireland revived it when he got here

He has the reputation of being a bean counter rather than a football expert. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you are surrounded by skilled people, which he is.

And he's the one that surrounded himself with those people. Which is why he deserves a ton of credit for building a good office and coaching staff.

And honestly we complain a lot about the period before Ireland, but he wasn't in charge of college scouting then either. That was Ryan Pace, who went to Chicago and fricked up everything they were building.

He has been the executive vice president and general manager since 2003.
He is doing something right.
Khai harley learned up Mickey.

Mickey can easily do those contracts.

You got that backwards bud. Mickey hired and learned up Khai.

Instead of Mickey doing it by himself like he used to, he does the framework and Khai works out the details.

Was suppose to say learned under

You think I was saying khai Hartley "learned up" mickey, right after saying mickey has been here since 2003

We are about to see how good Loomis is with the 2021 season. Pretty far in the red with important contracts coming up in the off-season

Don’t forget about Terry Fontenot. Ireland is just college scouting. All pro personnel / scouting is Fontenot. Saints have made some key signing and acquisitions that he deserves mentioning for, and I believe he is in the mix for Falcons GM position. Everything saints front office right now is top level, and I’d hate if things got shaken up.. especially losing someone to the falcons...

Have you never heard of Mickey Magic? He gets praise all the time for how he handles the cap and makes the salaries all work somehow. He ain't a great scout or talent evaluator which is why we brought in people to do that for him. Since then our front office has been killing it and he is an integral part of why.
