Long Term: Pierre or Reggie (Votes: RB-12 PT-6)
Now I'm not a Reggie hater but the way our offense is stacked makes him less valuble IMO. Maybe if we were detroit or st. Louis keep Reggie is a no brainer. It's just clearly obvious that on the field PT has made much more impact than Reggie has. Reggie has shown flash and I do believe this will be his breakout year, but until I see this I have to go PT.

I'm deducting a vote from PT because blitzed tried to get a double vote past me.

I would want Reggie.

His skill set is harder to replace than Pierre Thomas.

There are only a few guys in the NFL that can give you the advantages that he does.

Not just the AZ game but even in preseason... he looks to be more confident in his abilities and decision making. He truly seems to get it and is still as motivated as ever to prove his worth IMO. He's a year out from microfracture surgery so knock on wood... he should have an excellent season.

Reggie. He can dance, but I don't want him to until he retires and goes on Dancing With the Stars.

I've heard this argument again and again, and I still don't get it. PT is every bit as injury prone as Reggie Bush. We've played two games in the preseason and he's already nicked up.

Here's a factoid: One of the two players has actually played a full season, and his name isn't Pierre Thomas.

I vote for RB

As Payton said on ESPN last night, this is the first time in 3.5 years that Reggie's been 100% healthy.

And look, I love PT as a back, but dude has never had more than 152 carries in a season. And that was at Illinois. He's a great "glue" guy who keeps your offense on schedule and together. Heck, I'd even argue that he has made Reggie better and vice-versa. I don't think that each would be as productive without the other, long term.

I like them both and I hope we keep them both. But being that this is TD.com, where zero-sum mentality rules, you know that this HAS to come to PT vs Reggie. There can be no other way.

Beyond that, the pro-PT/anti-RB arguments as presented in this thread are silly and often just wrong. Dude is always hurt. His injuries were the reason Mike Bell got so many carries early last year.

that's really just an excuse so Payton didnt have to say "this is the first time he hasnt ran like a pussy from the RB position."

and i think that quote was more pertaining to him being healthy late in the year and postseason.

either way, Reggie could have attempted to run this way before. It wasnt because of injury.

Pierre by far.

The Reggie votes are coming from those that have invested in a "25" jersey.

I'm not going to disagree with you at all, but as far as skill sets go, PT just seems more replaceable to me than Reggie Bush. I mean we got him off the street for a little bit of nothing.

PT can't motion out of the backfield into the slot and make the D soil itself

Not really, just the stupidity of the "PT by far" comment and the jersey comment.

Both great players. Both about the same height and weight. Both same age. Both played huge roles in our Super bowl season.

In 3 years with the team, PT has 22 combined rushing and receiving tds.

In 4 years with the team, RB has 32 combined rushing, receiving and return tds.

So how specifically would you say it is by far an obvious choice that PT is the back that should be kept?
