A potential Sean Payton trade can give us some of that plus maybe moving some high priced players.

What could we get out of Dallas for SP?

Cooper Rush and some picks?

Jackson will probably be tagged at least 1 year as well.

They can tag him twice before it gets really out of hand. Even then, they would trade him for way more than we could offer. He’s a pipe dream.

Exactly why I advocated getting Watson before everyone started bidding on him. Everyone else available is basically on the same tier and won’t make a difference.

Why does it have to be Dallas? Because Sean may want to go there? Who cares

Dallas may accidentally be good enough to not justify firing their coach.

You have a team like the Chargers with high expectations that have just looked really average the last 2 years. Id be willing to be they'd part with picks to take them to the next level. They are in a market that NEEDS to have a good team.

Most likely... and as of this moment yea we dont have the pieces. But we still have a few players that have value across the league.

Its not a move you can make over the next year. But its def something to look at if Lamar doesnt want to negotiate with Baltimore and he just plays out on the tag

I think the NFL overall is going into an era of average QB play .

Man I don’t think I could disagree more with this. I see no reason at all why Herbert, Burrow, Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Watson, etc won’t be really highly regarded for a long time.

Allen and Mahomes yes. But despite his numbers I think long term Herbert will be a Rivers type at best. Burrow won't last too long getting sacked like he does. Lamar Jackson is just a running back and I think Cleveland would probably do just as good if they had kept Mayfield. Watson being sidelined for close to 2 years will be detrimental to him really getting effective.....just my opinion... I have an a-hole, too :)

They've already offered i think like 280 million and he's turned it down. Not out of realm of possibility one of these teams says "we arent giving these highest paid contracts" and rebuild.

And you think the Saints can afford to jump in these sweepstakes?

The issue for Jackson wasn't the amount offered, he wants it fully guaranteed like Watson. In regard to being able to afford it, you already know Loomis can make it work. Just a matter of at what cost.

You are seeing the cost now of “making it work”. Extend and borrow on the credit card leads to the crappy contracts for Taysom, MT, Peat, etc.

When you add in poor drafting (Davenport, Ruiz, Turner, Baun) and we can’t afford to sign our productive draftees (Williams, Bell, TRex, Armstead) you get the shiteshow we are today.

Any team that gives a deshaun type deal is committing suicide.

Edit: maybe I’d do it for mahomes. You’d need a perfect combination of youth and character.

You act like all the other teams can keep ALL their good and productive draftees

Thats foolish and childish dreamy thoughts.

So if we need to move on from Winston, what is our solution?

-Free agent qb market is terrible next year

-QB prospects are pretty shitty out of the draft.

- We have tons of veteran players, so far they haven't produced ,
-we’re in salary cap hell with a poor head coach .
-It’s gonna take a few years to return to a team that has a shot at a Super Bowl

4 games......FOUR.

Him and Allen would probably be the exception, but I will still have a hard time making that call. You are one injury from absolutely crippling your franchise for years due to the guarantees. Under the traditional contract, it would hit you for 1-2 years then you can reset while adding new pieces

why in the hell would you want him? That dude is a serious knee injury away from being a totally ineffective QB. The only thing that makes him viable now is his legs.

Did you watch the 49ers-Broncos game? He was a game loser in that game
