I was in the dome and up in my section, we all thought Turley threw his helmet not the Jets players. We were pretty damn angry at Kyle but still pissed at the refs for not getting the Jets player off of Brooks.

BS. He was what you call a team player. frick that game. Saints weren't making the SB that year anyway. I still wish Kyle had ripped the guys head off with the helmet. He made the right choice because that Jets player didn't try that shite again. I bet he was regretting his decision when roided Kyle got ahold of him.

I was at that game and right there on the goal line sitting. The bottles started flying on the field from the upper decks. All we could do was cover our heads and stay in the ducked position.

Turley is what that team needed- it was a primetime game. The only thing I was upset about was Turley getting kicked out of the game.

For those of yall old enough…tell the youngsters how it happend and was everyone initially mad at turley until they saw replay or not.

I was 14 and in the endzone where the play happened. I remember being really confused why everyone was cheering for Turley after it happened. I remember telling my dad that he probably cost the Saints the game. After watching the replays, I still think that. If he just stood up for his qb and dropped the helmet, I think the Saints would've won.

I stood next to Turley at the HOB in NOLA one night around that time. That was one mountain of a man! Also met La'Roi Glover that night. Really cool dude! It was a heavy metal concert so I was surprised La'Roi was there.Maybe Turley dragged him there! lol

defensive lineman grabbed brooks helmet and bent it so far back it was clear he was trying to injure him if not break his neck
Wait another blatant no call that screwed the Saints?

Shocked, I am.

Jim Haslett said he was gonna cut Turley the next day until he cooled off.

This was the beginning of the end for Haslett. Instead of sticking up for his player he threw him under the bus. Haslett began to lose the locker room.

I vaguely remember this when his helmet got completely rotated.

Is that correct, or am I just imagining that image?

You are correct.

You can Google the pic

I apologize for not being able to post it

But the pic I found wasn’t as bad as another pic at the time.

I don’t know how Brooks walked off of the field

They were actually trying to rip his head off
And break his back bending him backwards

I’m my opinion it made the Jets incident look mild

They threw the flag on the Jets but we ended up losing yardage because of the multiple flags on Turley.

It was such a dirty play by the jets player Turley's reaction was 100% justified. I didnt like Brooks, but that dude was cranking on his neck for like 10 seconds after the play was over.

Did it cost them the game? Sure, but who gives a shite, it was good to see someone that actually cared.

ETA: I was only mad that Turley's helmet toss sucked.
