Solid signing. As stated before, I’m hoping that 6.5mil isn’t the cap hit for year 1. Still need to sign drew and ideally some depth on the lines!

Posting this just for fun

“Coleman probably isn’t going to be happy that he whiffed on Kamara. He should have known better, based on some comments he made last week.”

Kurt Coleman described why Kamara is so tough to tackle earlier this week.

“He kind of goes limp to the side and the (defender) kind of shrugs off.”

Kamara just did exactly that … to Coleman

Another one

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Ted Ginn (19) scores a touchdown against Carolina Panthers free safety Kurt Coleman (20) in the first half an NFL Wild Card Playoff game in New Orleans, La. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018.

Kurt Coleman is pretty bad. He got abused by the saints a bunch.
I was happy they kept him the past two years.
What's the contract ??

Dude is 30 and wasn't good on that Panthers d with that front seven.
Should of used that money towards okafor and a different safety

We don't know Ok's health or demands on money. Coleman will be fine playing next to Williams. So you can scratch SS and FS off the draft board.

Camp body at 6 mil a year is a little high though. Don’t ya think?

Not bad.

Let’s see what money looks like before melting, could be a good chunk of incentives.

11 INTs in 3 season. Ya, not good

Looks like two good seasons before injuries last year.

They wanted a starting caliber safety at a good price and seem to have gotten one.

I doubt the FO shares you sentiment that he's a camp body. They usually don't give out 3 year deals for 18 mil to a camp body.

Team captain, can play both S positions, good ball skills, has playoff experience. Smart player overall. Teammates will listen to him unlike Vaccaro.

He's only been penalized once in the last 3 years. Vaccaro for comparison, drew 17 flags

That is my exact same feelings, way too much to spend on a S to be a camp body.

He played well in 2015 and 2016, and was hurt for almost all of 2017. We need a veteran to work with Williams and Bell, and Coleman is better than Vaccaro. I'm fine with the signing and after the past two years, the front office gets a vote of confidence from me.

I like his leadership. I don’t like his play last year. Good 2015. Ok 2016. Abysmal 2017.

I think his contract isn’t what it appears to be at first blush. Incentive laden. I’m sure they are hoping he’s S #3

Kurt Coleman Highlights
FWIW, the Saints have abused many defenders over the past 11 seasons. In this video, Coleman has 2 INT's against us alone. If fully healthy, the guy has ball skills and sideline to sideline range. Also appears to always be in great position to make a play. We know what Williams brings to the table.
