No Honey for the Saints?

I Agree I don't like it, but he's a FS and wasn't KV more of SS/slot corner at times last year? Think we still may draft a safety, I would love Harrison from bama

He's a backup, no big deal.
Veteran leadership role, check
Goodbye Vaccaro

Exactly. Backup FS & maybe some playing time in obvious passing situations.
The only way this is a bad signing is if you think Bell or Bush was better in pass coverage. I'm assuming he's going to be cheap.

Camp bodies aren't signed to 3 year deals (and I'm sure some of it is guaranteed). And having signed him before even waiting until FA, the Saints saw something that they liked in him.

Pass coverage is the only thing that makes sense. Hopefully they're right.
They've been hitting on these kind of bargain signings for the last 2 years.

Pretty much OSU NFL squad

3rd safety, replaces Kenny for much cheaper, and will be a heart and soul locker room guy. Good signing.

Pretty much. Was their team captain last year, really grew into a leader since he was signed in 2015 for them.
Bush is a free agent
Vaccaro is a free agent
Saints secured a backup safety and allows Bell/Williams to grow together.
I think the biggest thing people are forgetting is when we go into 3-safety set, this allows Bell to move into the rover role that he excelled in while allowing Coleman and Williams to play the back end like they're good at. The question still remains how well Bell can play at traditional SS

I agree that they have seen a specific set of skills that they liked in signing him. Maybe they just saw that the guy lined up in the right spot and didn't allow himself to be out of position.
Also a good open field tackler.

Coleman isn’t good though
Puzzling signing unless they plan on letting Bush walk

Happy for the guy, don’t know if you guys were aware but his wife made this Instagram post about how his kids were so happy their swimming pool had finished and it had been so hard on them moving so much from changing teams, and literally hours later he was cut...

Dude was terrible last season.
He had an awesome season in 2015 with 7 INTs, but he has gone down hill since then.
FWIW PFF grades:
15 - 81.6
16 - 79.2
17 - 47
6mil a year. My God frick that

I guess he's not a backup then. I assume it will be Coleman & Marcus Williams at the Safety positions. I'm guessing Vonn Bell will be playing around the LOS more this year in the hybrid role.
However the coaches handle the situation...these look to be our top 3 Safeties in 2018 (still might draft one as well). As long as Vonn Bell is used primarily as a run defender & pass rusher...we should be fine.

2016 PFF score was good as well. Was he hurt or something last year? That's a big drop-off from the 2 previous years.
