You are correct. Payton was calling plays.

My whole point is that you could have Payton, Shanahan, McDaniel, etc.. calling plays

Nobody would succeed with this O-Line. Nobody.

All I know about Carr is that when he was at Oakland I was friends with an Oakland fan and he complained about the same shite I’m seeing now. They called him check down Charlie on all the forums and said he was afraid to pull the trigger on the intermediate to deep throws. I have no idea if the data proves this but it is what raiders fans noticed and it seems to be the case now.

wish we had the option to check down on any of the final 4 plays that Carmichael just sent everyone on go routes vs an all out blitz with plenty time and a timeout

Or Carlsmithmichael

Either way, this offense is broken!

Same Carmichael that called plays with Brees?

He's suddenly dog shite?

Payton without Brees has had pedestrian offenses.

So, yes, the problem is the OC.

It doesn't matter. I'm done with all of them.

Unless they win Thurs. Then its reset and I am happy again until next Sunday.

This is not 5h3 offense that Brees ran and I don't have insight if that is because of Carmichael or Carr. What I see is:

1. The routs are designed for one target. Their is no progression to go through.
2. Carr has to throw the ball away quickly way too many times because what was supposed to be there is not there.
3. It appears Carr is only being given one play to run. Brees had two plays and he could decide which one to run based on what the defense was showing.
4. Routes are not being run to setup other routes. There appears to be no strategy in play calls to set up future play calls.
5. There is no pre snap motion. Payton and Brees used this to force the defense to expose themselves and to move defenders away from where they wanted to run the play.
6. The routs are really really bland. Other than shaheed speed, there is nothing that challenges db's.
7. The offense is dictated from the sidelines and there is no feel of the game. The players are just following the script they are told to follow.

I agree with everything except this.

Our Issues: #1 O-Line , #2 Carmichael
Im pretty sure there are plenty of active NFL coaches and assistants who can make this same oline look a good bit better than what Pete is doing. #1Carmichael, #2O-Line

I can't say Carr bears no responsibility, but I can at least say he's trying his best he can and actually cares.

I can't say that about Carmichael.

I have no way of properly judging anyone on offense so long as Pete remains the coordinator. No group of players is going to make his offense work.

It doesn’t have to be either or, it’s all three. HC, OC and QB are all warmed-over oatmeal.

for those who don't believe it's carmichael....

Go look at a couple of red-zone series...AK isn't even on the field for several of these plays.

QB doesn't decide personnel packages, coordinators decide that in a situation like red zone.

The dumbassery with these coaches is monumental.

Carmichael is a major issue but Carr isn’t maximizing those plays either. Its both. Carr has a history of bad red zone plays and there have been several plays where hes making the wrong read or not throwing to the guy whos open. Coaches are dumbasses but lets not pretend Carr is some elite QB completely handcuffed here either.

Carmichael made Carr chunk it out of bounds 8 times?
Carmichael made Carr throw it into the ground 2 times
Carmichael made Carr send a laser into RR71's arse? From 4 yards away.
If all of this is true the Carr needs to check out if the play every time.
Carr is getting 40 mill not Carmichael Carmichael will be gone before Carr.

Carr is washed.
If a cheapskate like Mark Davis pays you to go away then the red flags should have been raised.
I wish we would have kept Dalton or signed a jimmy G for 15 mil and 1 year contract so the new HC can get his own qb. THe saints would be in the same spot......
Carr will be here when Allen is gone next season and Carr will be expensive and still suck.

Carmichael is not running Payton schemes with 3 receivers to a side working to get one open at 8-10 yards.

Also, the Saints have largely forgotten how to run a competent screen....which would save Brees' arse many times and open up downfield.

Simply throwing to an open Kamara in the flat is not going to cut it.

I don't know how you blame Carr for an impotent screen set up.
