No

Had good d lines during dome patrol days.

2000 was best.

We had solid lines in the dome patrol days but they aren't better than this one. The LBs were elite, the line was solid, the secondary was average.

Didn’t Glover, Hand and Darren Howard play together at some point ?
ETA 2000 with joe Johnson too - that’s my vote

This defense reminds me of those Giant defenses with Strahan, umenyiora, tuck etc. Just ridiculous depth, big, physical, tough.

Yes this is the best d line and possibly best secondary.

Not even close with the linebackers even though Davis is great.

This secondary is the most sound. You never see people running free on them.

No.

And No.

Also NO.

You can't have watched the early 90's defenses and ask this seriously.

Yep, Johnson, Glover, Hand, Howard. So dominating, we had scrubs off-the-street at corner and they regularly benefited from hurried off-the-mark passes.

I want to say that DL/defense set the Saints sack record, right?

The best ever was the 91 and 92 Dome Patrol.

This is spot on and exactly my thoughts about the post. The Dome Patrol was more about the LBs and less about the D line. Don't get me wrong, that D line was good but not as good as what they are right now.
