How’s he been 5 weeks into the season?

He’s still bad. His emotions seem very forced and he still does a terrible job of telling you what’s going on. He gets lost in the weeds a ton.

His call of the record-breaking pass was awful. Sounded like the call of a pee-wee league game.

Deuce being Deuce doesn't help much either.

Looking back, I wouldn't have minded Ken Trahan being the voice of the Saints.

Listen to him calling a few HS games over the years, he is vastly underrated.

To me, he’s getting better each week. We just have to realize there will never be another Jim Henderson...we were spoiled much like we are with Brees.

I listened last night for about half the game because I was late getting home from work. I thought he had his good and bad moments but Deuce sounded way better than he has before.

Just my opinion.

I agree with this.

I'm surprised WWL did not go with Seth Dunlap. The guy has a natural radio voice. I guess Seth is too young and not enough of a household name.

He just makes so. many. mistakes.

More times than not, he's wrong with down and distance.

He doesn't describe the game well, at all.

In the offseason, he would do well to find every single game tape of Kevin Harlan calling football games on the radio, and listen to every one, over and over. The picture Harlan paints is great.

Hes still raw. Needed about 2-5 years of work before he started this gig.
Its not like he did it on the side when he was wearing the uniform.
Hes just bad.

PFF still has him as an above average right tackle.

Somebody needs to tell him that Deuce is the only one allowed to use on-field huddle language

Its infuriating when Strief and Deuce both say "yeah they tried to run XY Razor Wishbone and the tight end didnt close the protractor.... yep totally agree deuce"

Nobody has a clue what that means. SOMEONE TELL ME WHERE THE BALL IS

He sounds like he should be calling the Southeastern football games on KSLU radio in Hammond.

Bring on Sean Kelley FTMFW

Here's a link to last nights scoring calls. I think he's improving.

He’s really good for not being a play by play guy, if you want to think of it that way.
You can’t just pull any right tackle and throw him in the booth. He’s better than I expected but yes, the broadcast sounds local and unpolished even more so when you throw Deuce into the mix. But I actually enjoy Deuce too and what he brings. I dont mind listening to them.

yeah, I think Deuce has gotten better.

Strief would be real vague on like a 20 yard play for both teams last night it seemed though.

He'd sound something like this: 2nd down Washington from their own 38 ... Smith back to pass hits Chris Thompson out in the flat.. ew.. missed tackle and he's brought down by williams at the Saints 40.

I don't know how you'd call those mid range or so gains but his delivery was real stale at times. I guess you don't want to be an emotional homer but there were chunk plays that weren't called all that well.

but he sounded better than what he did in the preseason. Just needs more work.
