I tried to put this in a topic but can’t find one but this organization is absolute garbage. The way I see it we will continue to be mediocre until we hit rock bottom. Honestly I would fire the entire coaching staff and start fresh. When Jim Haslett was hired it was a new beginning. We need to start over and the first thing is to draft a QB first round, possibly trade up.

If you think we need to hit rock bottom, why are you about done?

I think it's worse than you realize.

We need to spend 2 years getting our cap situation straight...while hitting rock bottom. THEN, after a couple of years of high picks and a good cap situation, you hire someone that has a good vision.

We are two hard years (which we haven't even started) before "firing the entire staff and starting fresh" could be a viable strategy.

All of which is contingent on having an ownership/management that subscribes to this plan and doesn’t make it worse in the meantime. It is here where I lose heart.

Jim Haslett was the dumbest HC we ever had.

I dont want that kind of ‘new beginning’

I think you bring in that vision now - because you’re going to need those draft picks to execute it.

Bring a guy in and say “we’re rebuilding - and you get to call it. Plan to get back above 500 in year 3” - or something to that effect.

See you in September where after an offseason of drafting and some free agents we'll talk ourselves into how the Saints can win the NFC South

The reason we disagree is because year 3 would be the beginning...certainly not a .500 team. We'd be a 1-16 type of team heading into year 3.

I don't think you can get the guy you want to commit 2 dead years like that.

Saints are really dumb enough to bring Carmichael back.

Do like most of us do. Watch with low expectations. Don’t invest too much time or energy into this Saints regime. You will be much happier.

Nothing will improve until Gayle and Mickey are gone. They are too stupid to get rid of Dennis the Menace and make us better.

It’s even worst than this. You are assuming that the saints make great draft picks and find a QB. See Miami dolphins post Marino.

I would love for someone to bring some toughness to this team. Dan Cambell is literally the perfect man for the job. Let him go

Titans old coach also.

Jim Haslett was a meathead no doubt, but anyone who thinks he was the dumbest HC in Saints history is a relative Johnny come lately to historical Saints football.

2024 plan -> Keep DA, keep Carrbage, no more can kicking. Eat bag contracts and load up on draft picks. Full tank mode. Put Carr on IR day 1 of season and play undrafted rookie all season.

2025 plan -> Fire Allen during or immediately after season and bring in a new staff with 8 picks in the first 100 of the draft and cap space.

New coach, new QB, new identity.

Excitement renewal, like 2006.
