The pain is knowing that it isn’t truly retirement.

Who cares if he left us. He gave us 16 years. How many franchises can boast that other than the all time greats?
Gibbs was with the Redskins for 15 years. Walsh with the 49ers less than that

Best of luck to CSP. Glad for him he is living his life the way he sees fit. What a great run. The players and organization love him. The vast majority of coaches don't get to leave on their own terms.
Most of those guys stopped coaching altogether, Payton just used the excuse of leaving on burn-out. This is the pussy way to quite on this franchise that gave him as much as he gave us.
He wants to still be in the limelight and will be. So uck him and when we play his next time I hope we kick their asses every time. I want to hear in 10 years he could never beat his old team.
I want that to be his legacy till he retires.

Thanks for the video. That’s awesome. Not very often that a coach gets to ride off the way Payton did. He did so much for this franchise.

He wants to leave us. This ain’t about retirement or needing a break or anything else.
