If you can just remove the player & contract without the associated adverse reaction to the cap, you cut Carr and roll with whoever you have in house. There is no one out there that would give you a better opportunity to win than any one you already have in house. Then, you get to go into the 2024 draft targeting a QB and not having the cap implications swaying your decisions.

2nd option would be Peat. Has a voided year next year with a $13.6M cap hit. Cutting him this year may allow you to absorb some of that now to cut next year's cap hit in half?

I’m going to view “squad” as the entire team and staff. I’ll say Carmichael……replace him with Gruden so you can see what you have in Carr (and the rest of the offense) with a competent playcaller.
