The NFL was so mad the Saints beat the Vikings that they changed the OT rules. GTFO with this shite, OP

ETA: if they were going to rig it for the Saints it would have been in 2006, when Rex fricking Grossman beat us in the NFCCG. Not 2009.

Killing the QB was still allowed back then. So other than hits on Favre and Warner I can’t think of anything.

2009 doesn’t really do much but prove the Saints surprised the NFL. Bountygate, right after that, had goodell forcing Greg Williams to sign agreement that he was responsible or he’d never coach in NFL again. A bounty program was supposedly in place for the 31st least penalized team in the NFL. If saints were so evil and hurting players, where were the penalties? Saints were set up as scapegoats for the impending class action concussion lawsuit.
2018 made me call it quits.

Yes, apathy set it. You best believe there is a script for many of these games. It’s made for TV. Fans are suckers.

Bad take, brosef.

Every team that wins the SB does so because of some measure of Good Luck. Of course, the 2009 Saints got some breaks - just like every other team that wins it all.

And, yes, after the 2018 No-Call, I became much more apathetic about the NFL. I'm interested in the product but I try to not be a "fan" of any team. I don't want to spend the amount of time and money it takes to be a real "fan".

and the league wants P. Mahomes to Three Peat and be the new GOAT to surpass Tom Brady.

It's a show. It's entertainment. It's a product that needs a narrative, so, the league does what it can to script that narrative.

This is one of the best posts ever on ST.

I would like to add to your post by reminding everybody that the Colts had a monster player at Defensive End who, if completely healthy, might have changed that SB into a Colts win. That DE was significantly injured and slowed down for the SB.

This is just another example of how an SB Champion needs a some help from Lady Luck to win it all.

Getting hopped up on meth and banging Bourbon St Trannies to then forget about it in some confusing attempt at trying to say it was Mouth's wife is not the best brag on the interwebz.

No way - only the Packers with Rodgers had worse luck than the Saints with Brees.

I'm glad we got one Super Bowl but IMO we should have been closer to the type of run Kansas City has had. Win 2 or 3 and go to 1 or 2 more.

We were so much better than say the Steelers or Giants who won 2 each. Hell, we were better than the Patriots some of the years that they won.

Saints, Packers, Colts, and recent 49ers all underachieved bigly.

Since that game, in my eyes all refs are stupid and Roger the Clown is lying anytime he speaks. And everyone but Saints fans hate the Saints, including Roger and all refs.

So Roger the Clown fired MP for allowing the Saints to win the Super Bowl?

Roger is nothing but a waste of oxygen, carbon, bone, marrow, tissue, and organs.

They win the Super Bowl because that's how the script is written that particular year.
