How can he be inarguably the best CB in this class and be overrated?

I'd run to the podium if he fell to us at 12 if Rankins isn't available.

Youre statement is true but not in this situation but not as justification of drafting a CB when DLine (and other position) is such a huge area of need

CB is a position of need because of health as well. And you can still get very good DL in the second and even third rounds. CB, not so much.

From what I've heard, Hargreaves and Buckner are really the best/safest picks in the draft. Why do you say he is overrated?

it's never just the question, do we take him?

Do we take him over WHO else is on the board? There is some ratio of where Need and BPA meet. Must-pick is when the player rank/rating on your big board is far above the others remaining. Hard for me to see that with him at #12. I think there would be several other names that maybe aren't as high on the big board but would be better picks.

We have Lewis who is frequently gimpy and aging fast and Swann who has had a series of significant head injuries. We have Wilson, Breaux, and an unknown in Williams. I am not saying CB is a top need, but we are also not far removed from it being a very thin position. There was a reason why we kept throwing Browner out there.

I don't know how people saying the opposite don't understand this. Swann is a concussion away from never playing again. Lewis is hurt often lately and is probably on the downside at this point. And we have no clue what PJ Williams can or can't do in the NFL.

We could make it through the season with what we have and be OK, or it could be a total disaster again like last year.

Pretend that the top 150 players have already been selected. Do we then take him at #12?

I almost expect something like this on draft day to be honest. There is a lot of depth @ D-line so maybe you go to that well in the 2nd round.

I like Alexander the corner from Clemson a lot but maybe not at #12.

he made a few nice open field tackles in the championship game against alabama. That was what stood out to me the most but I think he got hurt and didn't finish the game.

We are terrible at drafting DBs. We have much bigger concerns on this team. No thanks.

He would be a solid pick a #12. I don't think there would be much argument with it.

I would jump at the chance to take him if he was available at #12.

I saw him get beat regularly last year. Not saying he's a scrub by any stretch, but I think his height will limit him. If I'm picking a CB at 12 I'm not thrilled with him that high.

We could use a CB. Would definitely put it as a higher need than S

I suspect the Saints see it the opposite. The backup safeties are underwhelming.

No. He's going to be a bust.
