I'd be surprised if our top 2 picks aren't WR & OL (OG or OT that can also play OG). That's assuming we don't address these positions in free agency.

I think it’s a slam dunk. And i hope its Jefferson if he can fall to us.

We'll probably have 3 or 4 legit WR's to choose from at 24. Jefferson will probably be 1 of them.

Probably gone:

1. Lamb
2. Jeudy
3. Ruggs

——————-

In play:

4. Higgins
5. Mims
6. Jefferson
7. Reagor
8. Aiyuk

Out: Shenault

I’d take Jefferson or Higgins in a heartbeat.

I’d be happy with either for sure.

So if both are available, who do the Saints pick?
I say Jefferson

I would love another reliable receiver on this team. I was a little afraid Jefferson would run a 4.6 but 4.43 is more than fast enough to run every NFL route reliably and demand safety respect.

Easy to do if you never draft one

I think the biggest issue is finding the right guy for the system. By all accounts, Meachem was just as talented as most of these guys but never developed into a true #2 because he wasn't the right fit.

Cooks & MT stepped right in and flourished because of their intelligence and work ethic.

I think there are 5-6 legit WRs from a talent perspective have what the team needs, but once they go through the interview process I wouldn't be surprised if it's only 1-2 guys which means they may need to jump up to get one of them.

Most of the respectable mocks have somewhat of a consensus on the top 20 or so guys

Burrow, Tua, Herbert, Love (4)
Their are tackle needy teams littered in front of us - Wills, Becton, Thomas, Jones, Wirfs (5)
The WRs - Juedy, Lamb, Ruggs (3)
Stud defense guys - Chase Young, Okudah, D Brown, Simmons, Kinlaw, Chiasson (6)

WR is too deep, I do not think Jefferson goes in the top 20

The more I look at it the more I think the Saints wait until Rd 3 for WR

OT is just as deep.

Patrick Queen will be in play

A guy like Marlon Davidson perhaps

Jordan Love

CJ Henderson/Kristian Fulton/Delpit?

Thank You!

I’m not a huge fan of Fulton. I want an OT/OG or Kenneth Murray.

Plenty of WRs available later in the draft. Claypool probably goes in the 2nd with his 40 time, but a guy like K.J. Hill (tOSU) will likely be there at our pick in the 3rd. He also has some return ability, so we don’t have to put Kamara or Ginn back there when Harris is hurt.

Should land a solid WR, but hoping they don’t spend a #1 unless someone slips.

What sucks is the Patriots are right above us. Any top guy available at that point they will take.

I'd normally agree but the Saints need a clear cut #2 and not just another meh Trequan Smith type. I really hope we go for it in the first round.

Simmons

unreal 4.3 40 yard dash.

May end up being a Top 5 pick? 10 for sure.

I could see a team like the Giants who are devoid of talent on defense taking him.

OR Carolina.

that would suck.

they need a guy to replace Kuechly.

not that it would be easy to do but I could see it.

(them picking Simmons).
