My point is, you can’t blame an entire game on one play. Although THAT one play was huge!

If drew doesn’t under throw Ginn on that interception.

Yeah, that was a shitty pass.
But he's a WR doing something well outside his skillset.

What Williams failed to do was basic for even the most inexperienced safety.

But I see your point.

if we challenge the ridiculous spot in 1st quarter that would have forced them to punt instead of leading to a TD.

I look at it this way

Marcus Williams basically missed a wide open layup with 1 second left to lose the game. Yes other plays happened throughout the game but he has a very easy play to make is shits the bed

AND if the saints score more points and dont lay an egg in first half they win despite all the late mistakes and terrible coaching schemes and play calling

ran the same play last year and completed it to tim hightower. they've probably ran this play 500 times in practice this year.

Listen you had a two point lead with 25 seconds left. You make two stops inbounds and it's basically over. The percentages of them winning that game at that point was probably less than 10%. And like the Saints always do they managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I don't think that really disputes my point.

Snead threw a TD to Tim Hightower last season on the same play

it's well within Snead's skill set... and apparently a play Sean likes to dig out occasionally... like the flea flicker

If Brees does not have his pass swatted and intercepted in the redzone, if Brees is not sacked and Lutz has to attempt a 57 yard FG, if Lutz makes that FG, if Snead completes that pass, if they convert on 3rd and 1 etc,etc,etc... shite happens and there was definitely more than one play that could have changed this game.

if Drew waits 2 more seconds to snap the ball so the Ginn TD stands instead of getting an illegal shift penalty called against Ginn (which also would mean a future Brees INT wouldn't happen)...

I'd rather the flea flicker - at least the ball is back in Drew's hands.

In the end, the Saints overcame all their bad plays today and still took the lead. With 10 seconds left, Marcus Williams simply shite the bed and lost the game for them. Plain and simple. No need to make excuses for him. He just choked.

Problem was when the play was called. It's an awesome play call on first or second down. It's 3rd and one. Get the first down.

Meh

We scored the TD we needed any ways with a lot less time for them

We score there so what? Of course you can play the if game all day long but we had everything needed to win. Just one bad defensive play at the end.

I wonder if Sean regrets running the ball thst set up the fg rather than going for a first to really deal it. That was the right call though.
