If Saints could afford 1 High Dollar Free Agent…. What POSITION would you Geaux After ?

For me…. A Pass Rusher is Needed.
- Now, do you seek it at OLB in a 3-4 ?
- Do you seek it at DE in a 3-4 ?

I think your premise is flawed and you are asking the question, “what is the biggest need for this team?”
When it comes to free agency, you need to look at who is available. Who is currently better for the team, Za'Darius Smith, Brandon Scherff, Kendall Fuller, James Bradberry, Amari Cooper, Keenan Allen, Demarcus Walker, Justin Simmons or Marcus Williams?
We need a #1 WR and a CB, but I’d probably take Smith or Scherff or Simmons out of that group. (I wouldn’t pass up Fuller or Bradberry just because of need, but they are probably stopgaps and not long term pieces.) But I’m not paying top dollar for any of those guys.

As of right now considering available free agents …Bradberry or Z. Smith.,, A-Rd would have been the answer last week

Don't bother. None of the guys that are left are going to move the needle for this team that has very little talent or depth. Save your money for next year when you have draft capital and your cap situation is in a much better situation.

All these guys are over 30 and past their prime. I’d take a chance on Asante Samuel, only guy that might turn out to be a long term piece if healthy.

That’s what I’m getting at. Not a ton of FA talent out there to throw money at. If anything, you’re just getting an okay bridge player at a position.

I would grab an elite wide receiver. Granted, that goes against my philosophy of never signing wide receivers to big contracts. But yeah, we need a legit WR1 and a corner.
